It was a cloudy day in Edo, the sky looked as if it was threatening you with the promise of wet rain. The wind was nice, not to cold, but not to hot either. The streets were semi packed as people headed towards the Edo Dome. The Edo dome was a large structure looming tall in the Sumida District like one of the coliseums in Rome. Today was a rather big day! One of the former star scions and athletes of Edo Bugei was going up against a leading contender from Spain. The man was named Sanada Hoshi was a star Tennis player and veteran of the Ikko War. The Spanish Contender was Diego Lopez a fairly unknown newcomer. It was going to be an exciting day none the less.

Will had won a ticket from a local raffle. He'd be attending with some of his classmates that were part of the Bugei tennis club. Whilst Will wasn't a massive fan of the pass-time he still still found enjoy in it. Watching two people go at something with all they had was always interesting to watch. He adjusted his Fedora on his head brushing his golden locks to the side as he stared outside at the sky. In his mind he was making a monologue about the gray heaven above. Just like one of his favorite movies!

"A day where even the heavens above hide from the darkness of humanity below, casting a shadow over the fair city and at the same time lighting up all the dirt and grime."
[/color]He hadn't noticed he'd spoke out loud and flushed a little as he apologized to the person next to him. He had to stop doing that in public, it made him seem weird... and depressed. The bus pulled into the station and everyone was slowly filed off and into the end of winter air.

Will took a deep breath and stretched his arms and back to loosen himself up. The air was slightly cold but it felt good, energizing. He waited for his group to dismount as well and joined them as they entered the building. It was warmer inside but not as hot as the bus. It was backed, more packed then it then crowd outside would lead people to believe. The teacher in their group stopped them and began to speak. She was an mature lady in her mid 40s. She had an exciting tone in her voice.

"Okay group! Before the match we'll begin with meeting Hoshi! Hoshi was the team captain before he graduated four years ago and he made me promise to bring you to see him. He loves meeting the new Tennis Club members and he's very excited. Now follow me and keep together." She said with a smile and turned on her heals and lead the way.

Will took this time to look around and he would notice the surprising amount of security. There were men dressed in full Samurai armor carrying swords, rifles, and spears. Of course this must be due to the fallout of the Ikko attack, the Remnants were still targeting Scions and Bugei students. He was pondering getting Takoyaki, but before he could pursue his culinary quarry a man's voice came over the intercom.

"Attention, Attention the Arena is to be evacuated. Everyone but the Spanish team, Edo team, and Edo Bugei group need to vacate the premises in a orderly manner. Edo Bugei group please report to the locker area as quickly as you can!"

Will furrowed his brow and moved his hand to push his hat down on his head as his mind raced. Something must be up, but what? An Ikko incident? With all this security? The group picked up their pace as they raced to the lower sections of the arena. They passed many groups of gossiping people as they neared their destination. "Interesting..." Will said softly under his breath as his mind was now fully in Private Eye mode.

They arrived at the locker room and a man in shiny armor appeared. Will deduced he was the head of security.. which he was indeed. The man bowed to the teacher before explaining what had happened. "It is with great regret that I must inform you that Sanada Hoshi was been found dead, beaten to death with what appears to be a tennis racket."

William's eye widened as the man spoke and he pushed himself instinctively past the teacher. He reached into his coat and pulled out a Tokugawa badge that had been given to him during his time investigating the Ikko moles during the war. He was certified to Investigate crimes under the jurisdiction of the Shogunate. "Have you touched the crime scene at all?" He asked bluntly.

"Ah...ahhh..n..no.. and you are..?" The man was very taken aback.

William took off his hat and adjusted the inside before putting it back on. He did it mostly for style. "William Midoriya at your service. Now, I'd like a look around." He walked past the man and the Teacher followed him allowing the group to follow if they wished too.

Today felt ordinary but nothing much to complain over. Mika looked at the back of the few students ahead of her in the bus. Most of the students wore sport arm bands of the tennis club but it wasn’t just them. Other students were present and unrecognizable between the groups of club members and non. This was all in part of the nature of this bus ride. Be it their own interests or otherwise, an invitation was extended to see off a former club member. They graduated ahead and went into a sports career thanks to their passion and talent, was what she heard, but decorations of trophies and medals with the name Sanada Hoshi were kept among the few items that survived the school’s falling during the earthquake.

The girl confided to her seat listening to the radio while the club member next to her chatted excitedly to some friends in the walkway. The Honda diverted her eyes from the grey sky to a travel brochure on the sports dome everyone was taken to. Earlier she took up papers to register herself out of the tennis club but has yet to complete them on her own time making her technically still liable to wear the club’s armband despite her disinterest as of late. So here she sat surrounded by more people she could care any more about just to take advantage of the free detour.

However, it wasn’t as typical as Mika had compared to what little expectations there were. All ready an announcement was called for the stadium to be vacated minus a few groups. The school’s being one of them. Mika’s eyes went to a dead stare on what was even needed of them while looking up at the intercoms with confusion as some others had done. Keeping her mouth shut for now, their group was escorted to the locker rooms as they were no longer spectators once so freely changed to active dury.

Again she assumed it to be waste of time as a eather heavily armored samurai met with their teacher escort and group. Strangely informal but oh well. When the reveal of why they were taken here did the placid group shifted to various shock and disbelief; Sanada Hoshi was dead. Some stylish hat head student went infront of the group, slipping past the guard to see the body asthe man struggled to keep others at bay. Mika didn’t join in the stuggle to see the dead boy but looked a bit saddened that thtis came to pass. A most unfortunate event the mentsuke should handle. Mika didn’t know the youth personally to feel any more for him but waited out to hear what did any of the adults intend to have them do able it. She got her phone to check the time currently then searched around their group for the Edo and Spain teams. “That announcement sounded awfully sure of who needed to be involved,” Mika sighed. If everyone else was to head home then why not just get the police and have them take care of it verus a bunch of kids on a field trip. Although when thinking about rhe last time in working with the mentsuke, if they’re not Ajibana then there wasn’t much to count on on their part.

“Let’s finish this quickly.”

So, the man hadn't touched the crime scene? This was good that means Will could get to work. First, he'd need his Watson. He turned around and looked at his fellow group of students and he narrowed his eyes in hand on his hips as he chose carefully. Finally he pointed to a pretty blonde girl who happened to be Mika. "You, you're my assistant. Everyone else please leave.. minus the Samurai officer here.. I need you to keep people out of my crime scene!" He says with a commanding tone, suddenly out of nowhere William was in control of the entire situation.

The teacher in-charge of the kids looked taken aback, but William was part of the Shogun's investigation corps. The teacher sighed and looked at Mika. "Please assist William with whatever he needs.. I'll find someway to fit in extra credit for you as a reward." With that the teacher turned and lead the other students away leaving Mika, William, the police, the Japanese team, and the Spanish team at the crime scene.

Music

As Will entered the room he looked around quickly. His eyes darted around at surprising speed. His hands were in the pockets of his coat and his head was tipped forward causing the tip of his Fedora to cast a shadow over his face. On the ground there was the body of the Bugei sports star Sanada Hoshi. The first thing he picked up was the room didn't smell like death, that was curious. Usually a body begins to smell shortly after death. He knelt down over the corpse and noted a small pool of blood near the head as well as small cut's all over the mans face.

William pressed his finger into the blood pool and brought it up to his eyes. It was wet. He looked at Mika. "Write this down, the murder was recent.. couldn't have been more than an hour or two at most. The blood hasn't even dried." The detective looked around the room. "Also the room doesn't smell off which means the body is fresh."

He paced a little and then moved to the head. The small cuts interested him. He turned Hoshi's face and a large gash was on the left side. "No doubt the cause of the blood. However, I don't think this was enough to kill him. And these cut on the right side of his face is strange." He rubbed his chin.

He stood up again and moved to Mika and whispered into her ear. "I'm gonna need you to watch the guards and the Spanish team... not many people have access to the changing rooms.. and this is far to sloppy for Ninja involvement." With that he went over to the rackets and began to shift through them. "These are all Hoshi's correct?" He turned asking the guards. One of them nodded. will went back to looking and found something that made a dark smile cross his face. He pulled out a racket that shined in the light a bit. "It's wet... Hoshi was attacked with this... whoever the hell was cocky enough to do this murder is denser than iron." He twirled the racket in his hand.

"So you said you found him like this?" He motions to the Spanish team who nods. "Hmmm, must have just missed him, or her... you heard nothing?" They shook their heads at Wills question. "Interesting..." He mutters as he ponders for a moment.

Excuse me? Mika blinked a few times in being singled out. Hardly even asked to or if it was just intentionally drawing a lotto from the crowd but Mika found herself selected to keep notes. Her head cocked a little in silent bewilderment that when turning to their field trip escort, even they were helpless on the matter and left her with a promise of extra credit. How utterly irresponsible. The Honda scoffed in a huff at the fairly useless adult while this young man carried the room. Literally the affair of investigations was carried by him. Just who exactly does this guy think he is?

She looked to an officer standing by for an explanation with expectancy to have one delivered. Possibly being a lone female in the presence of a murder scene, the office felt pity on her to whispered the answers Mika quietly demanded. The man in question was a detective recognized by the Shogun, more or less, and is on a high rank member of the castle's investigations. She wondered where this placed him and Ajibana's work position with the mentsuke or if they were in the same department at all. Still, her task was the make notes of the process so she tried to keep a summary of what was around as best as possible.

So far, a single body that was freshly killed. The item of choice was a racket and the enemy team is currently pegged for the crime. Mika crossed her arms on the list of suspects and those that had to stay in the locker room which was just Will, the officer, Team Spain, and herself. Since the murder just happened and all, Mika wondered if the team manager even knows. From where she stood near the entrance of the locker room doors, there weren't many other exits of the room. Of course the kill is too amateur for a ninja but it honestly felt like people are missing.

"Shouldn't the team managers know a thing of this? And where are the other Japanese team members?" She asked the guard if he knew anything and Will. It was all in his authority but it's a matter if these other people needed to be involved at all given how they were absent presently. If the person that did it isn't in the room right now then it seems like there is a problem here if the extra person just happens to slip away while they're busy checking the body.
