A New Season: After a lot of struggle and hunting of rebel groups the Shogunate has declared that the Ikko Ikki threat can officially be viewed as over! While some smaller cells of Ikko rebels are still hiding through out the country, the war with the Ikko has been declared as over!
England, France, and Germany Cease Fire: A cease fire has been declared in Europe between the warring triad of France, England, and Germany. While the cease fire is not expected to last long the three country's leaders have agreed that as the season shifts into fall and winter soon after the citizens of all three nations should focus on spending time with family and enjoying the holidays together.
Clans Declare Truces: In the wake of the Ikko attacks in the spring multiple clans had been viewed as being in a position to destroy one another. However, various clans, most notably the Maeda and Uesugi, also the Kuroda and Mori, have actually sent aid to one another in the wake of the Ikko assaults. At first the Mori clan seemed extremely hesitant to welcome Kuroda forces into the various cities they control, however the Kuroda forces seem to be accepting orders from the Mori forces.
Oda vs Imagawa Tensions Eased: It has now been confirmed that during the Ikko war in the spring a large contingent of Oda forces from Owari marched into Imagawa lands during a full scale battle between Imagawa and Ikko forces. The Imagawa troops, given the long history between the Oda and Imagawa clans, quickly steeled themselves to have to face two armies instead of one. Instead the Oda forces unleashed multiple volleys upon the attacking Ikko monks. The Oda army, sent by the current Oda lord in spite of multiple statements against him by the Shogunate's religious minister and current head of the Imagawa, provided full military aid to the Imagawa troops. It was reported that when Lord Imagawa demanded the Oda forces leave his domain the Oda generals gave full bows to the messenger carrying the demand and quickly returned back to Owari. While it took a few weeks for the message to be released, Lord Imagawa not only sent a message thanking Lord Oda, but also praised the Oda commanders. Some reports claim that the thank you letter from the Imagawa to the Oda was quote "heavily encouraged" by both Lords Maeda and Honda. Lord Imagawa has refused to officially comment on this report.
Edo Bugei: Classes have resumed at Edo Bugei Academy! As many of you may know during the summer following the Ikko attack classes at the school had been canceled. Most of the student body had been sent back to their various provinces in order to help rebuild damaged towns and spend time with their loved ones. We are now reporting that the majority of the students body has returned to campus in order to start the new semester.
Ikko War Memorial: A large, granite memorial has been made on the recently repaired grounds of Edo Castle in order to honor those citizens and samurai that fell during the Ikko attack in the spring. The names of multiple samurai, and fallen Edo Bugei students, have been carved intoB the large granite triangle.
