• Akihito
Although never a powerful family, to the extent of lords and shoguns Hatsuyuki comes from a long line once they held wealth and influence. When it all began to crumble they gathered their wealth, story say that in a pilgrimage toward Ise the head of the family realized how many warry travelers would do this pilgrimage every year, they acquired land near Ise and build a large manor that would serve as a inn for the many who made this trip. This gave this small family an inflated sense of self-worth they were the lords of their manor and those who came to their door would shower them with praise and gifts.
Many generations have passed, yet they have maintained this now depilated manor as a well-known in, years of famine and miss management have stolen them of most of their wealth, but like and old tree who’s roots dig deep, they have withstand it all. The current generation still maintained that pride of once having been a powerful family, their name long gone, so has their fortune, yet pride withstood.
On the twenty first winter of the lady of the house gave birth to not one, but two boys, in the eyes of many such blessing would have been seen as something to celebrate, but with their frail economic ventures, they could not slit the wealth between two while ensuring their child maintained raised their status. This did not dwell in their minds for long as Hatsuyuki had no pulse. His father saw it as a blessing a small price to pay in order to secure his child’s future, especially in these rough times when their wealth was directly tied to the economy, merchants and travelers.
Being a special day, Hatsuyuki’s family had requested priests to come bless the birth of their child and had paid for some of the finest nurses to attend them during the birth, where most where focusing on the mother and still living child and old monk and one of the nurses where not ready to give up. She in particular had been there since the beginning, she had seen the lady of the house swell as the weeks passed and life grew inside of her, she had heart the heartbeats, and did not protect these lives from sickness only to see them perish on its birthday. With those thoughts in her mind and the prayers of the old monk; she went to work using every skill she knew to bring the child to life and minutes later she did the child lived… and his hell began.
In the eyes of his parents the gods had claimed his life, the child before them was not their own, it was probably possessed by some spirit. Yet they could not spit on the face of the priestess and monks work, not as long as their inn and business surrounded itself of people who traveled toward the shrines. Also they could not have a look alike of their son wonder about nor could they dispose of him so easily.
The early years where quiet; Azuchi received the best education his family could afford, when scholars would stay in the inn, his parents made sure they had special rates as long as they would spend a few hours tutoring their chosen son. On the contrary, Hatsuyuki grew up without a name, the maids of the inn had been tasked to keep him alive, his head constantly shaved, his clothing old rags left behind by others or articles sown from old bedsheets and curtains. Games for him where cleaning, scrubbing, washing. His education was minimal nonexistent. His parents didn’t treat him as a child, but as a burden, no one spoke of the fact that the two children where family, even though they were twins, their treatment and experiences made a huge rift, Azuchi was intelligent, athletic and even at his young age his parents had gotten offers of potential suitors. Where Hatsuyuki, was always frail, small, the lack of exposure to the sun had left him pale, what little hair grew on his scalp before being forcefully shaven had begun to gray due to the mistreatment.
Every winter the old monk that had blessed the birth of the twins would visit, he held great distaste of the treatment the family held upon their first born, it was him who named the boy as for the first four years of life the kid had no name. It was during these visits that the boy would learn, everything from simple prayers and wisdom. He absorbed this knowledge quickly having grown in a desert of ignorance every little bit was precious water to his thirst. It was this wise monk who gave the boy strength, reminding him of the lotus flower.
“The lotus flower grows in the mud, the deeper the mud the more beautiful the lotus blooms”
As the years past the rift grew more and more, Azuchi was the wonder boy, the genius even at the young age of thirteen he had received an invitation to Edo Bugei Academy once he was old enough to attend, once he was fourteen that offer became reality. Hatsuyuki continued to be the servant the burden, yet his family did not care, they had struck gold with Azuchi. He would elevate the family. On the boy’s fourteen winter the old monk gave the boy a special present, a set of jade prayer beads that had been passed down to the old monk by his master, and so on, the old man saw Hatsuyuki as son and even though the boy had a rough life, he had not used it as an excuse not to flourish on his own way.

As for Magoda... Sorry bro, I didn't mean to drop from the face of the planet like that, the job kind of dragged me away kicking and screaming... Sorry.

"Will you be okay?" asked his mother as she let go of her son, his hand resting on the wooden handrail. With a silent nod he affirmed that he was going to be fine, he loved his mother dearly, but her constant worrying was starting to get to his nerves, he was blind not crippled.
A soft smile forced itself to his lips, "I've been here a thousand times, it's like a second home..." he reassured his mother, he could not see, but even now as his hand rested on that old wooden handrail which for many years became background noise he felt comfort. Memories of old painted in the blanks that his eyes could not provide, he was five when he first came to this shrine, his father was working on a leak in the roof, he remembered his head barely passed the handrail, the awe he felt as he saw his father standing on that roof wiping the sweat off his brow.
He could not see it, but he could feel the warmth of the high noon sun, "See you in a couple of hours" he told his mother, he needed some time to himself and this was the one place he could get that little bit of privacy that the school would never be able to provide.
Kazuma took a deep breath and tried to paint with his mind eye the area surrounding him, the wood carved handrail, the ancient stone steps weathered and soften by weather and time, as he softly walked up the steps he tried to bring up the image of the old shrine, a place uniquely old, yet timeless, maintained by monks and priest, the scent of incense filled his nostrils evoking memories of his youth, his fist archery lesson was by one of the monks, his first crush a young quiet girl who would in time turn into one of the shrines priestess...
He moved slow his cane softly rapping the ground, it was still strange to depend on such a tool, even in places that one would joke so many times that they could traverse with their eyes close. He found one of the wooden benches laid his cane to a side and started a silent prayer, he was never much of a religious person, but he respected these men who swore fealty to their faiths, if only he could be as strong as they.
HAIR: Over the years Kazuma has conserved his hair long. His dark brown hair reaches down bellow his shoulder blades, he’s not one to style it much, but when it gets in the way he will put it up in a pony tail. Two equally long bangs rest in front of his face, once upon a time that would have been an inconvenience but that is no longer so.
EYES: Behind those long bangs are thin eyebrows that help him express his emotions, he’s never been good at hiding them, his eyes are a soft brown, but the damage on them is noticeable leaving behind a soft haze to them.
HEIGHT: 5 ft. 10 in.
WEIGHT: 164 lbs.
BODY TYPE: Physically he's still quite thin his skin tone is a darker than most of his fellow student, tough compared to the past where he was practically skin and bones, he got some muscle under his thin trim build. His arms and legs are starting to show tone, and his stomach is flat, but there is still a long way to go till h reaches his goal.
STYLE: Under normal circumstances his school uniform is his choice attire when he’s not wearing that he will wear simple outfits, or kimonos since they don’t require him to worry about mixing and matching colors and styles.
OTHER: The one everyone sees is his eyes, the brown eyes have a soft haze to them.
Kasuma is a simple teen to fallow, being an only son his had his families attention, physical labor was never part of his favorite tasks so he found diversions that his father would accept school and archery where two off those. Even though he's been picky and has not dated, he will admire girls and had developed a good idea of what he would like in his ideal girl, and lets say soft spoken is not a thing he looks in a girl.
He's become jaded since the 'accident' which caused him to loose his sight, and a personal dislike to scions since. Well his beef with Scions is more the fact that they seem to get special treatment due to their skills. He's always been a creative kid something encouraged by his mother, though if you want to get under his skin quickly treat him differently due to his lack of sight.
WEAKNESSES: Stamina, hot headed
AMBITIONS: Ensure that he won't depend on others.
FEARS: Loosing independence.

WEAPON: Cane Jitte; At the length of four feet Kazuma's wooden cane does not seem to stand out much, in reality its the 'sheath' to his Jitte, the short iron weapon is only sixteen inches long from the Tsuka (Handle) To it's Boshin (Shaft). Its tip being flat and its Kagi, only extending a few inches forming a type of hook. To separate the jitte from it's sheath it requires Kazuma to twist it for it to release.
Kazuma usually opts not to fight, but ever since he lost his sight he's needed to keep his guard up. Having his cane around him more often than not he opted turn it into his ideal weapon, he's still learning to use his weapon but for the most part he uses it to block and divert, since a lot of people tend to lean to short range weaponry.
Once the sun shone bright, it guided my feet and did not allow me to
• Father: Shigeru Kensaki
• Mother:Yuriko Misaki
Kazuma’s family is a small one, the little they own they had to work and earn through their efforts. His father had ingrained into Kazuma two main tenants, one to work and earn that which he wants and two to be strong in the sight of adversity, there is always hope and a way.
Kazuma was one of the few who could say that he enjoyed school, on one side he hates physical labor, if he can avoid destroying his hands like his father has done he will. On the other hand he actually enjoys learning, and reading something he picked up from his mother. His mother being a freelance writer, didn’t bring much money to the house, but her job made her happy which encouraged Kazuma’s father to work himself to the bone under the unrelenting sun as long as he could return to that smile and glimmer.

Being the only son one could say Kazuma was pampered. He got to read a lot over the years, and when school didn’t keep him busy he would spend his time helping his father or doing his one big passion Archery. Archery would solidly fall under passion, not a hobby, he was good. It was one of those things that even his father who at times found it hard to find the words to express himself would show great pride. He had received accolades from peers and won multiple tourneys over the years. Sadly this all went to his head, and during one of his tourneys he goad his opponent a young, proud Scion from a big family who allowed the pressure to get to him and missed his shot, he knew better than taunt and make fun of the pampered kid, but he did, and it became his undoing as the boy would in his anger and frustration shot Kazuma as he got ready to shoot his own arrow, luckily the tourney bow and arrows where not for combat. This though was a small blessing in disguise, when taken to the hospital the doctors took many test making sure that no damage had been done, as result they discovered that the had genetic disease that would slowly steal him of his sight.

For a time Kazuma locked himself away, a world without books, or archery, a world where only sound existed, it took his father’s words and his mother’s encouragement for him to begin to pick up the pieces of his life, he taught himself how to read and little by little rebuild himself from the ground up. If his ancestor Yamamoto Kansuke could defy what the world thought of him, he should be able to do so too.

I'm Twilightriku, TR, Ri-chu... and those are a few of the many... many nicknames I've picked up in almost ten years of role playing... Time does fly... I wanted to get my hands dirty in the world of RP after being gone for a bit. A little about me, english is my second language, I'm probably crazy after ten years of rping, I'm the admin of my own site and I work with computers for a living. Anyways I hope I get the opportunity to rp with all of you in my time here.
