Helpers were swift in getting the mixture of flour and salt and sugar taken away with mini hazard pyramids taking up the small intersection between cooking tables. The squad of red aprons were glad to take care of the mess but were quick to remind the students that there's no sense to rush and to be careful of their work stations and partners. A lot of activities were happening at once so it was safer to look out for each other and remind neighbors of their boiling pots and ovens.
Mika stopped herself as she set down a container of salt and looked up at the two girls, more so the one that fell. "You..want me to?" She replied more stunned to be asked than worried about the cooking level being far above her. Mika didn't want to trouble the more experienced chef by asking them constantly for affirmations on if she measured the dry goods corrected or used the right tsp. "Ah, well," she began but Mirai had already confirmed it for her causing the blonde to blush a little and fumed embarrassed.
"I-I agree to this project," Mika blurted out to hide the fact that Mirai had egged this on. "I would not be certain that the quality would be correct but I would not mind sharing the portions I make with you all." If her cooking did turn out to be that bad, Mika wasn't intending to falter without the rest of the girls joining her.
Resolved in this, Mika gave a more determined nod while fetching the recipe card as her own reference. The picture made it hard to imagine how smooth the tops of the cookies could become or how they can turn out to be so delicate looking. She would certainly try her best to mimic and study Chou's techniques if their team project was going to get anywhere close to word successful.
Shoy Chou ((sorry this was updated so late)
The group of girls would work on their projects in earnest. Each one having the idea of at least someone close to them in a physical sense to receive their treats. Family, friends, classmates; all sorts. A combination of 2.5 chefs that brought up a most unusual combination of cookies and rock candy unlike any had even considered in a season of heats.
Spurred by this creative thinking did a few of the seniors took some noted in this and schemed their own crazy schemes for the advanced baking class. It wouldn't be at all fair to have a mixture of beginners try to meet crazy expectations forcefully. What was formerly a humble and low level learning skill for rock candy making became a prime ingredient with several more jars of colored liquids held up in the dark closet at the back to ascent many of cookie and cake.
At the end of the day, some could say this event was a success and for others, a more personal success to get a list minute gift ready for a crush. The lights turned off after a celebratory clean up party with sugary sweet thoughts filling the air around the campus for another week or two.
(occ: going to end it here after an absence and rather wrap things up as if no one has any objections.))
