Sengoku Horizon

Look towards the Horizon

The Warring States Period: Fierce warlords fought for control of Japan, and many would perish. When a warrior falls, where does the passion they once held go? Possibly into something dear such as a favorite weapon or heirloom. These heirlooms have been labeled as “relics”, and those that carry them are labeled as “Scions." Recently more and more of these special relics have been activating, signaling the start of a great change as ancient power meets the modern world!

Now For The Local News, 06/01/2018 The Chinese delegation have now arrived at the city of Edo. Making friends and learning about Edo Culture is their current aim! In other news it is also time for the school dance event! Please bring your characters along!

Dear SH members,

Just a heads up, I've given it a lot of thought and i've come to realize that as much as I would like to, it is impossible for the staff to update SH over the course of one weekend, or even one week. THUS, I have decided that SH will be entering a three tier Update plan. Sometime over the next week I will be clearing out old threads and deleting old content. then a few days later i am going to go through and look through the guidebook, RP areas, etc. and see what is outdated since with the recent spike in activity a lot of things are and aren't being used (and the staff knows that now) then finally, HOPEFULLY, the weekend of June 30/July 1st (some things possibly put off until July 4th) SH will be undergoing what I feel is a pretty ambitious update/upgrade project. The best part you ask? AT NO TIME during this process will we be stopping the school dance or shutting down the site!

A few things I plan to work on:

1. Games. I want to revive the gaming section on SH. It is a good way to build community. Both one word reply games and also roleplay response games. In and out of character, and possibly for shop credits!

2. Guidebook: So things we have are outdated and some things need added.

3. Archives: I want to make the archives more manageable. They are a bit....hard to navigate.

4. Edo Bugei: I will be re-doing the campus. Two new buildings will be added a few areas will be made more clear on how they work!

These are just a few key things I plan to hit on. Please look forward to it!

It had been a long time since the interview series had taken place. After all, Edo Bugei had been involved in a year long struggle against the Ikko Ikki both in and out of the public eye. However, as things had started settling down infamous senior reporter Fukushima Kosaka had not only survived but fully planned to restart her series!

Everyone's favorite brown haired, hazel eyed master reporter had found a promising crop of new targets and full intended to dive into her new interview series! With my awesome red and blue detective uniform, super cute blue colored panda bag, and amazing penmanship!

Kosaka: "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME! YOU TWO! THE SOTAN TWINS! My name is Kosaka, I'm with the school newspaper. Do you have a minute I'd really love to interview you for an upcoming editorial we are writing!"

The girl was well known in Edo Bugei as a master journalist and was currently approaching the twins at top speed, pen and paper in hand ready to get the latest scoop! The two had made a lot of noise lately as being two adorable twins that had recently joined the ranks of Edo Bugei's first year students.

The Edo Historic Archive. That was the name of one of the largest buildings in all of Western Edo's Suginami Ward. The entire building was stacked to the brim with books about all sorts of events, people, and places within not only Edo but the entire nation. The white colored building looked at the same time both dull and classy. inside various scroll and book containers lined the walls.

Today in his school uniform, his hair combed back, Masato entered the archive as a kind old man in a kimono greeted him.
"Ah, Mr. Katayama. Back again?" the thinly old man had a gray mustache, a balding head, and large glasses. His blue and black striped kimono looked a bit worn as he bowed politely. In response Masato smiled and began taking out his school I.D. as the man raised a hand
"You come here almost every other week. You don't need t-" but Masato shook his head.
"With all due respect sir, I need to. I don't want you changing policy just for me." he said, more as a security reason than anything else. Masato had certain ways of doing things, so that if he was ever brainwashed, cloned, etc. people would be able to tell easily enough.

Showing his I.D. the old man let him enter as Masato pulled out his phone. He had come here today not just to study as usual but talk with an old friend who had become a student teacher at Edo Bugei. Texting her, a decided smile crossed his face.
"I'm here, Juge =^.^=" was all the text said. Cat face and all.

Every day in Ota had been wet lately. For what seemed like nearly a week straight it had been raining in Edo, and yet, still Suishoku and Yumiko carried on at school, and working at the pet store in Southern Edo. Both girls had been working at the store to save up for rabbits they'd been wanting for quite some time, after the owner was kind enough to give them a job. The application process hadn't been difficult, however the work certainly wasn't easy. At times one or both girls had left with animal urine on their clothes in some form, fortunately it was usually on a work apron that they would then wash at the school.

After hard work, on a rainy day in Edo, both girls had met at the central meeting area between the girl's and boy's dorms. Yumiko was in a cute frog onesy that Suishoku would recognize from when she and Nobuyori had traveled to Omi previously. The outfit seemed soft but water resistant. She also had a clear umbrella with small, green lily pads scattered through out the design. Apparently Yumiko was quite ready for rainy weather. She was feeling extremely whimsical, after all, not only had she come out of her depression over the past year, but now, after hard work, the two finally had enough money to get and get their rabbits and cages. Yumiko already had bedding and food set up in her room and her excitement couldn't get any higher.

~World News~

The Russia/China Border: More and more disappearances are being reported lately in small towns along the Russian/Chinese border. People on both sides seem to be seemingly vanishing over night. As officials from both countries look into the matters, neither country seems to be releasing any statement, nor do they seem to be able to locate their now missing citizens.
Mongolia: In between Russia and China, the country of Mongolia has been making big news recently. The capital city of Mongolia finally got it's first internet connection up and running. It's citizens are now more connected with the rest of the world and seem to be enjoying themselves. However, many of Mongolia's citizens still prefer tribal lifestyles and are resistant to the idea of moving into a large city.
Africa: Recently Spain and Sweden have sent a joint task force to help various countries in West Africa fight a growing rebel army. It appears more and more rebels are going around, raiding villages in the middle of the night, and forcing the captured children to become soldiers for them. In spite of how much they disagree on, the majority of European and African countries have agreed to lend financial support and manpower to helping put an end to these horrendous groups.
Hawaii: More volcanic eruptions have been taking place in Hawaii over the past year than any previous year on record. Plums of toxic smoke are rolling over the island and many of the citizens of Hawaii now fear if they can even keep living on the island chain. Hawaii is home to people from North and South America, but also too many Japanese business families.
~Japan News~

One Japan Too Many?: In recent months more and more people in Kyushu seem to be calling for Kyushu to break away from the rest of Japan and become it's own nation, along with the smaller island off of it's coasts. The outcry seems to come from growing radical Christian groups on the island that demand Kyushu become it's own Christian nation and forsake Japan's military government. While the various Daimyo on the island are trying to keep things under control, fights have broken out between armed Christian radicals and Samurai guards.
Rainy Season Once Again: As a public warning to everyone in Japan, we are entering hurricane season. All of the rain and hurricanes expected this year could quickly cause mass flooding, landslides, and over all dangerous conditions. Please take caution and make sure to listen carefully to all local and national alert broadcasts. Thank you!
~Edo News~

Chinese Students Fitting In Well: The Chinese delegation from Beijing has only been in Edo for a few months, but they seem to be getting along well. The leader of the group, Sun Yi Huang, says that all of his students are deeply thankful for the kindness that Edo Bugei's students and faculty have shown them so far and are enjoying their stay at the school.
A Dance to Remember: Edo Bugei's first major school dance in a long time will take place this season! It seems that the student body voted a few months back on what kind of even they wanted this summer and chose a "Western Style High School Dance" theme. This is believed to be due to a surge of Western High School films that have been becoming popular in Edo. The school dance will have music from rising Edo stars "Sen-Gen" short of course for "Sinners Generation". A pop-punk-rock band, none of whom's members have ever actually attended Edo Bugei Academy.
