You know, they said that you could tell a lot about a person by knowing where they'd been before. Where they were going and where they'd already gone often said a lot about the type of person they were and the type of person that they wanted to be.
So it probably said a lot that Miyuki had passed this hallway before.
She stopped, sighing as she looked around desperately. She was going to be late and she'd even woken up early to prevent something like this from happening! It was simple really, all she had to do was make it through her own little tour of the building and everything would be good. But no! She had to go and get herself lost, wandering the halls aimlessly without any clue as to where she was going!
Why? Why did they have to make the building so large and hard to navigate? She'd never been inside of a building so fancy and elaborate before without some sort of guide or escort to take her to where she needed to go. This was like a nightmare, one of those ones where you ran as fast as you could but never seemed to actually be traveling in any direction.
It sucked and that was all she could really say about it.
She slumped against the wall, sighing sadly as she looked around. She was looking for the room her lessons would usually be held in. Lessons such as history, language and mathematics. Things a commoner such as herself usually wouldn't get the chance to be taught by the higher class of the country. It was all very surreal, honestly. It was still sinking in just how privileged she was to even have the chance to get lost in the halls of such a building.
She was still lost though.
"Where is it, where is it?" She turned in a complete circle, before sighing and falling to her knees in frustration. She'd have to lose face and ask for help, it seemed.
"Is anybody around? I seriously need help figuring out where I am." She called out, the hallways fairly empty. It stood to reason that many students would be in classes, but hopefully some would have the time to help her?
HAIR: Miyuki has dyed blonde hair, cut to her shoulders with her fringe stopping just above her eyes. She doesn’t often style it, preferring to leave it as it would sit naturally at its length.
EYES: Miyuki has naturally brown eyes, but always wears red contact lenses, making her eyes appear to be a crimson red color.
BODY TYPE: Miyuki has a slim, voluptuous build and is decidedly more...well endowed….than most other girls her age. It is clear that she is active enough to work off any weight she gains, but she also doesn’t seem to have put on a lot of muscle in her life.
STYLE: Miyuki’s typical fashion sense consists of one thing. Sweaters. Well, sweaters and skirts, but mainly sweaters. It’s hard to get her to wear anything other than a sweater, even in the summer heat or the pouring rain. She typically wears white clothing, or the majority of her outfits are predominantly white. Not for any particular reason, she just likes the color a lot.
OTHER: She has a long, pale scar stretching across the thumb on her left hand from a time she cut her thumb open whilst helping her mother prepare a meal.
Miyuki is the type of person to put her friends just above herself and her family just above her friends. Though to clarify, she doesn’t define family as just those that have a blood relation to her, but those that do as much for her as she does for them. For those people there are no lengths that she won’t go to, even if she dislikes hurting people. She isn’t above thievery or assault to help the people that she cares about and she’ll drag her own name through the mud to protect the name of somebody she cares about.
She’s the type that’s always willing to help you as long as you’ve been a friend to her in the past. Somebody that prides herself on being reliable and doing the right thing as often as she can. Once you have her trust and loyalty it’s a sacred thing and something that is hard to lose, as she believes wholeheartedly in her friends, to the point where a part of her believes that they could do no wrong.
She sees herself as more of a combat medic than a warrior or a strategist. She has her moments of brilliance, but she isn’t a tactical genius or master swordswoman. To that note, you could say she likes to live her life like she’s a member of the supporting cast, always there when you need them but usually you don’t notice them. That’s how she lives, helping the people that she cares about even when they don’t know she’s helping them.
STRENGTHS: Compassion, Determination
WEAKNESSES: Naivety, Pacifistic
LIKES: Learning, School, Relaxing, Helping others
DISLIKES: Hurting others, being shouted at
AMBITIONS: Miyuki dreams of traveling to other parts of the world one day. It is her hope to join the traders on their voyages across the world one day.
WEAPON: Shikomizue - A sword concealed within a cane-like sheath, usually held in one hand with a slight curve to the blade. As a novice to combat, Miyuki doesn’t wield it with much mastery, preferring fast and decisive blows if she does have to fight. She rarely unsheathes the blade.
RELIC: Miyuki’s relic is a black crystal that she keeps within the hilt of her Shikomizue. It is a rough sphere in shape and is smooth to the touch.
RELIC OWNER: Katakura Kojoro
OWNER HISTORY: Kojuro was the head of the Katakura clan and was a man that supported Masamune Date, said to have acted as his second eye. He was a valued strategist and second in command to the Date clan head.
ACTIVATED ABILITY 1: Soul dart: Fires a dart of green energy from the tip of her blade as she swings it. When this dart hits a target, the target will find themselves revitalized and able to move as if they were freshly rested, as well as finding that their bleeding has been slowed slightly. (one turn cooldown)
ACTIVATED ABILITY 2: Tranquil flare: Miyuki’s relic glows green and releases an orb of energy around her, spreading for half a meter, that stops any projectile that is not empowered in their tracks. It also slowly tires an enemy if they enter the orb of energy. Lasts for 2 posts. (Three turn cooldown)
LOCKED ACTIVATED ABILITY 3: Soul Beam: From the hilt of her blade, Miyuki fires a luminescent beam of power that heals and reenergizes whoever it hits. Deeper wounds are repaired and stamina is restored. The beam even has the power to mend a broken bone if there are less other severe injuries, as well as seal large wounds. Only heals one person per use, regardless of who it hits. There is no maximum range to this ability, but Miyuki must be able to hit her target with it, which is easier at close range.(Five turns cooldown.)
PASSIVE 1: When her blade is unsheathed, Miyuki’s cuts heal wounds instead of creating them. Cutting at somebody with serious wounds might stem their bleeding and seal shallow cuts, whilst aches and pains are healed and dulled as well. Can be used on 1 person per round.
LOCKED PASSIVE 2: The strength and power of Miyuki’s legs are greatly increased, allowing her to travel quickly by running, traverse difficult terrain by jumping.
LOCKED AWAKENED MODE COLOR: Forest Green
AWAKENED ATTACK: Field of Disharmony: Miyuki’s relic releases a thick green field of energy 3 meters in radius, that drains the stamina of anybody she perceives as an enemy and grants that stamina to anybody that she perceives as neutral or an ally.

Miyuki and her family hail from Sendai, the port city under the control of the Date clan. The Shirafune family, unfortunately, were not a clan that garnered much recognition. They did not have a rich history of honorable warriors or skillful shinobi. They were simple traders, but it was as traders that they found their living in Sendai. Such a port city, being one of the only places that saw foreigners, was a huge boon to any traders that could set up shop there. And Miyuki’s family were no different.
She would see the ships set sail, watching the men work as they hauled goods off and onto those very ships. And she was grow excited, because there was a whole other world out there waiting to be seen and explored. She wanted to see it, so did her whole family really. And though she didn’t grow up with any sort of combat training, Miyuki learned to barter with her family, growing up as a merchant’s daughter.
As a merchant’s child, Miyuki had the privilege of seeing many different items trade hands, usually as her father went about his business. She would sometimes help him load goods onto the boats, or deliver the goods away from the ports, when they were being shipped by cart or train. One such time, she was to deliver a package to some couriers, who were to take the package to the Katakura clan. Except she had a moment of clumsiness, one that damaged the package she was holding as she tumbled to the floor.
The Katakura clan had sent a package filled with potential relics to their allies in the Date clan, who had thought that they might be able to find a suitable scion for them. And Miyuki had just fallen onto this package, breaking it and spilling the contents of it all over the path. Many of them were coins or crystals, things Katakura Kojoro had collected over the years, but one black crystal in particular reacted when Miyuki picked it up. That crystal was one that Miyuki was keeping, but she repaired the package as best she could and delivered it, with only a slight fee against her father.
It wasn’t long after that before they came for her and the choice that she was given wasn’t very hard to decide. She could either attend Edo Bugei or be killed, so she knew what she wanted to do. Supported by the Date clan, she was sent off to Bugei.
Bugei was the start of her formal education, having been taught language and basic mathematics by her father, mostly revolving around money and accounting. It was also the start of her education in the ways of combat, be they unarmed combat or the way of the sword.
Upon finding that she had to join a club, the sailing club was her first choice. She'd hoped that, maybe one day, it'd be useful for maybe sailing to other countries. The art club was more of a whimsical choice, having had no desire to join any of the combat clubs due to her pacifistic nature. Plus, she'd thought that the calm of such a club would be good for her mind and alleviating stress. It was also this more pacifistic nature that made her take the medic track at Bugei. She always was better at helping people than hurting them, now she could make it a career.
Bugei...was definitely tough. She found out quickly that even if she had the support of the Date, it honestly didn't mean a lot, since she didn't use the Date name. It would be hard to earn the respect of everybody, especially since she was only here because she was a scion. But still, she was determined to try.
