MUSIC IS HERE!

A cold Autumn air blew through the campus of Edo Bugei Academy. It has been roughly half a year since full war with the Ikko Ikki had happened. Edo had been ravaged, countless lives lost, and the survivors forced to spend their summer picking up the pieces and trying to help rebuild the city of Edo.

More than any other year, this particular fall felt cold and harsh. Winter was quickly setting in and the students had been forced to already start bundling up for the frigid months ahead. Tonight, however, was not truly a night of mourning for the loss of life earlier in the year. Tonight something was afoot in the sleepy campus. On the first floor of the main building a sign up sheet had been posted. It said that the teachers would be hosting a fun Halloween event for the students. However, something seemed wrong. All of the lights inside of Edo Bugei's main building had been turned off except a single, low hanging light over the sign up sheet. If the students looked in the classrooms they would find hanging bodies and long, cryptic messages written in blood on all of the chal

The sign up sheet had fake blood all over it, yet still had clearly lines in which people could write their names and sign up for something that unfortunately the details of had been completely covered in the fake blood. With a host of Edo Bugei staff standing around, mostly third years, the students had no clue what they would be signing up for this evening.

Nothing so simple as a bit of pre-winter cold was going to deter the adventurous Todo Inori from going out at night. She'd tossed on a lightweight jacket with a bright green scarf to keep herself warm, and even decided to try and convince her brother to come too. He'd been cooped up in his room for a couple of days doing some extra studying and, she assumed, occasionally exchanging texts with a girl. With how his mood had perked up a bit more lately she figured it had to be partly that. Only when he had some girl he liked did he bear certain expressions. When she'd seen him the past couple of days (during his quick runs to the cafeteria or convenience store) he'd definitely looked that way.

However once the she'd gotten out into the world, things were way different than what Inori could have expected. Something was off about the main building in a way that didn't suggest a simple explanation. With each step closer to the main building the noticed other details. What appeared to be bodies hanging from the ceilings of classrooms.. no lights turned on inside the building itself. Shinsuke (talking to her on the phone) sounded a little bit tense as his sister provided a running commentary. Inori, however, was grinning ear to ear; she'd heard something neat had been being planned. To see all of this merely confirmed the rumors - clearly this was all just some kind of planned event. One that Todo Inori wasn't about to let slip by! She rushed in through the door and spotted the one place that was illuminated - a bloody sheet of lined paper.

"Whoa, this is awesome! It's got blood and everything! C'mon over here, we need to write our names down!" Inori exclaimed, pulling a pen out of her jacket pocket and immediately scrawling her name onto the paper.

"Uh, Inori.. maybe you should wait to see if other people show up first?" his voice suggested, but Inori had already signed up for whatever this was going to be.

"It's okay, Shin! I mean, it's gonna be like a real life horror movie or somethin'!" she grinned.

**********

As it turned out Shinsuke wasn't too far behind his sister in getting to the main building. The moment that she'd called to let him know about the crazy sights there, he wasn't about to leave his sister alone. Though she was fairly capable in self defense he didn't want to take any chances - crazy things had been happening in Edo and he didn't want to risk something happening to her. He was inside the building within moments of her remarks about it being like a horror movie, since he'd hurried out of his room just after she started mentioning 'bodies in the windows'. Every step toward the building had creeped him out a bit since he wasn't sure what was real and what had to be part of some bigger plan or event. That bloody paper didn't help any.. but he wasn't about to let Inori sign her fate away alone.

"You could wait a little before signing a blood-soaked paper," he remarked, even as he signed it himself upon realizing it didn't seem to be actual blood.

*************

Eriko Yamana hadn't been getting out much herself. The most recent experience with battle months before had caused her troubles that had taken a long time to recover from. Perhaps she wouldn't ever fully recover from them, either. She was, however, healed mentally enough that she'd deemed it safe to return to school full time. Seeing only doctors, family and her boyfriend and people connected to his family had been a bit stifling after that amount of time. She needed to see other people, and today was her chance to do it. Of course the gory decor didn't help that much, but she kept on telling herself it was just for show. Look! There were even other people there! The mere existence of a sign up sheet right where it ought to be convinced her it was all fine.

"Good evening," she remarked with an awkward smile as she borrowed Inori's pen to write her name down.

Kire was not amused by this whole charade. The bodies, the blood on the walls, the macabre surroundings, he considered it all in very poor taste. Especially since they'd so recently had double tragedies visit the school, at these very school grounds in fact. But he'd heard a fair amount of rumors about this little school project. The one that had caught his interest the most was that there might be teachers involved. And there was one teacher in particular that he would jump at any chance to impress.

Seeing her during the battle had ignited even greater flames of passion, flames that had nowhere to go since he was annoyingly single again. If a chance existed, no matter how slim, then he would gladly put up with the foul decorations, the bodies in poor taste, and the whole stupid concept. After all, what was a courage test but a way to torment the weak minded and people who let themselves get scared. He'd show Kono-sensei how brave he was.

He picked up the pen and signed his name to the form. He avoided getting any of the blood on him. Kire couldn't tell if it was paint or some kind of dye or food coloring. Whatever it was, he didn't want to get it on his hands, clothes, or anything else he owned. With his name written down, he moved on. No reason to hang around, he'd have to get ready, change his clothes, style his hair, he had to look good just in case Kono-sensei did put in an appearance.

While Kire found the decorations in poor taste, Bu did not. She showed up not long after to throw her name into the running. She wasn't scared, bring on the ghosts, goblins, and ghouls. She'd just punch them in the face until they got the hinnt and went back to their boring little holes in the ground. The gore on the walls was excessive, the bodies hanging in the classrooms made her think about math classes that never ended. She was happy to get into the spirit of the thing, after all, it was a game and it made her laugh.

She was also curious as to how the event would work, would it have older students trying to use their skills and powers as a training exercise? That would be pretty fun, and she'd get to have a go at one of the upperclassmen if they tried to startle her and she probably wouldn't get in trouble for it. She grinned at some of the upperclassmen hanging around before turning back to the sheet.

She was quick to pick up the pen and add her name to the list. But unlike Kire, she stayed and hung around. She was waiting for her immediate instructions, the day wasn't getting any younger and sleep was for cats. They slept plenty long enough to make up for Bu's lack of sleep tonight anyway, she'd just trade schedules with a cat, after all, on a haunted and spooky night like tonight, there was bound to be a witch and her cat around to trade with.

Kire thought it was bad taste, Bu thought it was comedic, Junko thought it was spooky. So the atmosphere was having the intended affect on at least one person. He hugged his scarf closer to him. The hanging bodies were a grim reminder of the forest, with the poor lost souls abandoned and alone. However, he had his artifact, he wasn't going to let the bad thoughts get in tonight. A bunch of his friends were going to participate and that meant he had to come. After all, he wanted to experience more of the world and these courage test things were apparently a perfectly normal thing. And maybe it would show everyone how manly he was if he did it right.

Still, he paused at the sheet and reconsidered. It was going to be scary, and Junko hadn't really had much exposure to scary things. There was the attack that left him those scars up and down his side but that was a different kind of fear. It was a fight for your life fear rather than a fun fear. He wondered what fear felt like as he skimmed the list of those who had signed up before. Some of the familiar names caught his eye and Junko couldn'thelp but smile. There were some very good friends listed already. Hopefully he would get teamed up with them and they could rely on each other. After all, when you were with your friends, nothing could stand against you. He picked up the pen and signed his name with a little flourish.

Suishoku knew something felt wrong about today and it wasn’t because the coffee milk vending machine was out of order. Today felt weirdly colder than usual as if an early snowfall would come. When she awoke and heard the news of something Halloween related, she expected more on the lines of costume fun. Seeing the fake blood sign in sheet, since blood clearly wasn’t that color of red or more pleasant smelling, she knew right away that this was going to be those summer tests of courage. These kinds of things were summer related afterall but with Edo reconstruction was the nearly ritualistic part of summer flown out the window and into the backs of people’s minds.

At first was she not so keen about the idea. A look into the rooms with the dead bodies made her jump at first and back away a few steps from the sting of her first year mission placing its skeletal grip on her shoulders. Nope! Not this! But as an Elite year, she’s suppose to show more restraint to this. What sort of ‘Elite’ is there to be scared of bodies and ghosts? Suishoku frowned and looked again. The classroom inside was too macabre for her tastes but she had to tell herself that this was fake. This horror house can’t and shouldn’t be held to what happened then and the faces of horror Edo has seen thus far. Now it all came back to the list.

What was this list for? Inspection showed it to be a sign up for some sort of event...maybe. The fake blood and bodies had to lead toward this. Even school staff stood by with an ordinary take on this. The large showing was a bit odd but it may be anything more than a ploy to put students at ease. That the school had control ocer the situation and its outcome. Using this, and thinking of finding a different vending machine for her drink, Suishoku signed up.

——————

Mika started into the rooms in an extra layered kimono for warmth. She never had the body type for natural insulation. Her expression looked curious and mostly confused than fear. A Honda was suppose to be brave and these obvious fakes weren’t scary. Unknowingly was the girl already exposed to spirits before but nonebof those encounters were scary than the living plane they all continue to struggle in. The biggest source of confusion was the fact all this was made up in the first place. Never before has she participated in spooky fun or the likes so her experience was a blank slate. She would observe other people before her, trying to deem if this activity was anything close to being popular among the students. At first, not many did but the teachers around didn’t motion encouragement nor denial. Finding no objection to the matter, she signed up in hopes of what she could take away from this experience.

Seeming to look on upon the whole scene with a mixture of confusion and uncertainty, Hisashi found himself just kind of unsure what to think of the whole scene before him. His gaze flickered between the fake blood and the bodies for a few good moments before he shook his head. He had been told when people were rushing here talking about hung up bodies, it had been some sort of trouble going on at the school. The only trouble he saw was the fairly overdone attempt to scare the students. He knew that Halloween was a scary time and all, but a slight annoyance came over him as he figured they could've at least tried to do something more charming like just setting up pumpkins or the likes.

Still, his eye couldn't help but linger on the strange sheet that already had a good few names scribbled onto it. He had been standing there for a good whole minute trying to figure out the mystery of just what it was for although it didn't seem to get him any closer to discovering the little mystery. He could guess though. From what he could assume, maybe it would be to help out decorating the rest of the campus as well or perhaps to participate in some kind of spooky dress up. While he didn't have much experience in either really, he figured maybe it could be fun. Since he had arrived, he hadn't exactly been able to make a real impression for himself to the other students. Perhaps this was a blessing in a rather curious disguise. Reaching into his coat, he took but a moment to fetch a small pen before leaning forward and signing his name on one of the lines, giving a faint smile. "Heres to hoping this will be fun."

The door to the dorms opened. He had seen the bodies hanging in the classrooms, and the blood that was everywhere. He had read the cryptic messages in some vain attempt to decipher them. But instead, he had apparently gone mad and joined the ranks of the undead. The people on watch saw the newcomer. Gray and bloody skin, with dirty all over him, as well. Haggard clothese hung off of him, and he was barefoot, lurching his way into the room. His hair was wildly unkempt, and his eyes were red. Earlier in the evening, he had been wandering around, wondering why they didn't ask for his help...

...and then Roshi was a zombie.

He could do this stuff too! He made fake blood and used a gray bodypaint. He found old clothes and covered himself in genuine dirt. He'd ridden his Hornet here - which freaked some people out - but otherwise, he was here in the undead flesh, making his way over to the sign-up sheet. He groaned as he took the pen and put his name on the list.

"Uuuuurrrrrgggghhhh..."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

She'd just been wanting to get in some evening practice, but as she went for some equipment...bodies. Bodies, bodies, and MORE bodies! It wasn't bad enough that there was a chill in the air, but now there had to be the dead and ominous too? Makoto hadn't quite gotten into the thrill of things, having been back on her feet for only half a year, but she was getting there. Even still...this was all a bit much, wasn't it? She poked a few of the bodies with her Yari, but otherwise started looking around for other people.

When she found them, it was...a frankly shocking dorm lobby/lounge area... She was properly creeped out, but finally...finally she felt that all of this was done on purpose. It all just seemed so wrong, you know? Makoto put her name down, then looked around at the people standing by. Kenji said she should let herself into more activities, not just the ones holding her interest and furthering her Scion-hood. Maybe...

Yuuki wasn't really sure what to make of all this. The main building was crowded, at the moment, and dark, and decorated so entirely wrong that she was a little worried she'd get lost. That, of course, might have just been that she hadn't been at Edo Bugei long, but the fact remained that she was worried, and she didn't particularly like it. Why did it have to be dark? Why did it have to be decorated differently?

She was fairly certain it was a Halloween thing, after a few minutes. It was supposed to be scary, but to be honest, none of this traditionally scary stuff scared her as soon as she knew it was a trick. That being said, she was a bit nervous, but only because she could trip or get lost in the dark. What if someone tumbled over one the railings, covering the few bits of campus left not entirely repaired? What if she tripped? People could get hurt, and that, she supposed, was a little frightening, but honestly, it wasn't that bad.

She'd just about left, but one of her year-mates- one she was yet to really be friends with, but who could play a decent game of chess, so they had spoken- suggested that it was some kind of event to get spirits up. Yuuki supposed she understood. It seemed a bit odd, but she knew people liked this kind of thing. Maybe it would be some kind of game? She should head back to her dorm and retrieve something more appropriate...

She returned a moment later- more than a moment, actually. She'd gotten a tad lost. She returned a moment later to sign the sheet and then remove herself from the crowd as quickly as possible. In her hand, she turned over a Dark Necrofear card. Maybe she could come up with a costume...? She knew this was traditionally 'scary'... right? That's what this was? She'd honestly prefer to be something cute, but maybe... she wasn't expected to? She sat down, about two yards from any of the other students, and started watching them intently.

Maybe... she could figure out how she was supposed to act for this? Yes. She would do that.

What the fuck? Eiji muttered as he wandered around the second floor.
Today he had spent most of the day watching the idiot box through his phone and when that died he just ruffled up his jacket and slept, to his surpise however the staff of the school had decorated the place to celebrate Halloween? Man he didnt know, Eiji did think it was weird no one came up to the roof to wake him up. He made his way down to the first floor where a bunch of people had gathered around a single light. waiting his turn Eiji stepped up to the 3rd years and staff gathered around a sign up sheet. He looked at all of them and signed his name. Better he look like he was here for that than get caught slacking off on the roof again.
----------------------------------------
Ryuji's hairs on his neck started to stand as he entered the school. He really did not like Halloween, not even a bit. He was as jumpy as they came and everyone playing pranks on one another with cheap scares was not very fun.
Well maybe to the people playing the pranks, but that was never Ryuji. He had always been on the reviving end of those tricks. He looked around squinting his eyes. The school was a lot darker than it usual, he made his way to the crowd and light only to be greeted by the staff and 3rd years cold stares and bloody sign up sheet. He kept his head down, still feeling their glares he reached for the pen on the table, maybe this is what they wanted? He signed his name to look up again, their cold glare now off of him. He breathed a sigh of refile. Now he could go back to his dorm and relax the rest of the day away

Matsushina Honda
-------------------------

It had been almost a year since the conflict with Ikko Ikki had concluded, and during that span of time he had spent his time by Central Edo, within the confine of the Shogun's castle, with his father. He had very little spare time to attend school, it's why he was left behind by many of his peers and even Mikazuki who is now a second year. Though he feels no shame in that, he was in fact proud of her and admittedly envious that she's able to enjoy her time at school like normal students despite the many tragic events that lead up to this current state of Edo.

Today he was told by his father to enjoy the supposed "special day", he didn't know what his father had meant by that, and from the looks of it today there's indeed something special that is about to take place on the Edo Bugei campus ground; as he overheard from his seniors on the Track Club. Well, eavesdropping is definitely not a polite thing to do. However, the details of what was going to take place sure piqued his interest.

Even if he doesn't know nor does he understand what they're actually talking about.

This particular evening, as Matsushina's business took him to Edo Bugei once more - he was attending Track Club's training earlier, the campus ground was completely deserted, and the feeling of a hidden gaze was intense. A faint breeze was blowing through the campus ground, and on it came a now familiar sounding voice, "Matsu... over here," the voice was stronger now, sounding more like someone in the area actually speaking than just a mysterious whisper. Shortly after the voice spoke a pale, translucent, figure appeared near his side.

It was the Scion of the Maeda clan, Kana Maeda.

Turning his golden eyes towards Kana Maeda she drifted forward slowly as she spoke once more; she seemed to be bringing someone else along with her, holding their hand tightly, "Matsu, will you come with us?"

"Us? And, come where exactly?" He asked, confused by her. He looked at the girl beside Kana and back to Kana herself, who seemed to be looking at him intently. He knew that from her gaze that she was about to say something.

"To sign up for an event, of course". She would point at the school building, grinning, it was decorated with many ornaments; and, to his surprise, there were actually people in the hallways, as he can see from the outside.

Could this be the so-called special event his seniors mentioned earlier today?

"Oh, also who is that girl by your side?" He asked with a tone of mild interest before proceeding to walk towards the school building. "Ah, she's- " Kana paused for a moment before turning back to Matsushina.

"Li Naomi." Said the girl who was standing beside Kana. It seems that she was dressed for the occasion of Halloween - even if he's unfamiliar with Halloween itself, as far as he remembered the style of her outfit is gothic lolita, which he believed to be suitable for a horrific event like this. He finally understood everything after seeing her outfit.

"Li Naomi, you say... I see, so you're the one I meet not too long ago in Osaka Castle." He nodded, he grabbed Kana's hand immediately, dragging her and the other girl along with him towards the school building.

Of course, he tried to tug and pull on them gently, without force.

She, Li Naomi, nodded at him.

"Let's go, before we're too late", exclaimed Matsu, as he made his way into the building and through the loitering staffs and students toward a table with a signup sheet, there he signed his name and, he would pass the pen to Kana.

"Now it's your turn".

Kana Maeda
--------------------------

Today, she was to give Naomi a small tour around the campus ground; it's what she has been doing in the past few days. She was entrusted by her father and mother to take care of Naomi should anything arise or if she needs anything, because she doesn't know much about Edo Bugei. Today there will be an event, and to make a better impression of Edo Bugei; due to the fact that the campus ground is left in ruin after Ikko Ikki's act of hostility.

She suggested to herself to invite Naomi.

As they make their way there from their respective dorm chambers, she would see a figure that she's familiar with. Yes, it was Matsushina Honda, the famed Scion of Honda Clan. She held Naomi closely, telling her to keep her quiet with gesturing her finger over her mouth and making a "shh" sound. However Naomi quietly whispered: "Isn't he.."

A moment later Kana made a remark, after observing her for a while, "do you know him?" She asked curiously, "I've met him once before in Osaka castle, during Li Clan's port project inauguration," Naomi replied.

Kana was not surprised, the Honda Clan held a strong tie to the Li clan after all as two of the four Tokugawa Clan supporters. She quickly approached Matsushina from behind and speaking in a silent whisper. "Matsu...Over here". It almost seemed as if he's slightly startled, but he remained composed, as ever. Much to her surprise. In fact, she's never seen him shocked by anything he had to see or hear. Could this mean he's actually not terrified of anything?

Like, anything that would surprise or scare most other people? To her inner thought's surprise.

She sighed, Matsushina, as always, would rush to the point. Perhaps he doesn't understand that he's actually excited for what was to come. Maybe he wanted to take away from the new experience. She can't unfurl what's going on within his mind, he's a mystery. The part which she likes of him, his unpredictability. As they entered the main building, she saw that the decorations are proper. As in, it's exactly like the horror movies she'd watched in the past. Blood splatters are placed carefully to give a terrifying nuance that would scare most students who attend Edo Bugei due to how well this "inauthentic" blood is made. There's virtually no difference with actual blood.

She looked at Naomi who shyly looked to the ground she's treading on. Naomi's cheeks visibly rosening with blush.

"Are you okay? Naomi?" She asked with worry smeared on her expression and voice, had she known that Naomi was uncomfortable by either the scare effect or the early winter cold, she wouldn't have invited her here.

"A-ah, yes, I'm fine. Don't worry about me, Kana. "
The other girl said, she understood that Kana is worried and tried to reassure her. It is warmer when they entered the building, but still cold regardless."Okay then, let's sign up." She received the pen Matsu was handing her and signed her name, and then she would pass the pen to Naomi.

Li Naomi
--------------------------

She was told to come to the Campus Ground by Kana Maeda, Scion of the Maeda Clan, who is currently acting as her tour guide around the school ground. From what she knows the Edo Bugei, and the entirety of Edo, is currently recovering from the war that happened over a year ago. Something that eluded her clan as they were kept safe in Osaka; all she ever heard was news, of its beginning and later on, its conclusion.

A little while after, she was transferred to Edo Bugei as it's slowly restored to its former glory.

Kana held her hand as they walked at a leisurely pace towards Edo Bugei, with each breath, what appeared to be white vapor rolled out of her and Kana's mouth. It was nearing winter, after all. The air is colder than usual, and it's even colder in Edo Bugei for an unknown reason. Kana had asked her to be quiet because she wanted to surprise an acquaintance whom she found to be wandering in the campus ground on his own.

Much to their surprise, he wasn't fazed by it; hardly, if at all.

She was impressed.

Naomi looked at his figure, and eventually a full view of his face - she recognized him near immediately. As a thought to herself: "Isn't he the boy who was in the Li Clan's port project inauguration?"

The boy, Matsushina, would then tug on the two of them - half dragging them to enter the building immediately. She had noticed the many dark ornaments around the area, she likes the macabre theme.

And, she does have a particular fondness towards Halloween decorations.

Which she celebrates often in Osaka, Halloween, that is.

Kana then asked if she was fine, because she didn't realize meeting "him", Matsushina, would fluster her. She's glad Kana doesn't understand that she feels self-conscious around him. After the two, Matsushina and Kana, had signed their name, it was of course her turn. She would receive the pen from Kana to fill her name in the signup sheet.

What she didn't realize was that the assembly is awestruck by their arrival. It was to be expected, Matsushina is of distinction as the heir of the exalted Honda clan and also has blood ties with the Tokugawa clan.

His physical traits, hair color for example, is a testament of that strong blood ties.

And likewise, Kana, heiress of the likewise exalted Maeda Clan and also historically affiliated with the Tokugawa clan since the time of the first Tokugawa shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu.

And there's her who is the heiress of Li, another eminent clan historically connected to the Tokugawa.

Their famed clan kamon's are visible at the upper back area of their apparel.

Izumi was shaking in his shoes. Only recently being transferred in, he did not have all the clothes he was accustomed too. Added with the fact that he wanted to feel pretty today. The women's uniform skirt offered little protection against the biting wind. He ducked into the nearest building for protection against the cold. His teeth chattering slightly. Inside the building, Izumi paused so his mind could catch up to what he was viewing. The floor looked dimly lit with a single light shining in front of some people. A blood-like substance could be seen covering the sheet, as the gritty gore and other substances splattered the wall. He may not have been at the school for even a week, but he hoped they were not doing ritualistic sacrifice so early in the school year. A portion of the people standing around was not even dressed in the sacrificing type clothing, he always imagined people wear when making an offering of another human. Making sure his bra was on properly and his hair was in the proper ponytails, he used his small stature to make his way to what everyone else was looking at.

Peering closer at a list he could make out a few names, and a slight introduction at the top. No sooner than he read Halloween event for the students did he borrow a pen to sign up. The excrement pulsing in his body. His family never let him party let alone participate in something as American as a Halloween party. Even when it picked up here in Japan. His father was always against it. Now at a place to start over and the first event he sees is one that he can dress up and have fun. It was like a dream come true, ignoring the depressing fact that he could never go home again. This was the type of freedom he has always wanted. His tail came from underneath his skirt in his excitement for the event. His regular ears turned into the white fox version. He only noticed he was losing track of human form again when the room started to look brighter.

It was a pain to calm himself down. Unlike making a hand look different, turning into a fox was usually an involuntary reflex to the excitement and was not fun to do in public. Resisting the urge his body stilled, and while he doubted no one noticed the ears and tail, he hoped no one would mention it. Signing his name with a flourish, he turned back around. Not even aware his tail popped back out. He figured why not see if he could have some fun, walking to the nearest classmate, he stuck out his tongue, before trying to turn his head into a Jack-O-Lantern. Izumi had not really gotten the hang of his Scion abilities and instead of a Jack-O-Lantern, he turned his head into a Jack in the box. A guy cute small guy, in female clothes, a white tail, and a jack in the box head. Not even Izumi could comprehend the looks he was getting.
