Hoshi greeted Zihao-san as she looked at the others in the group. For the most part, they looked like they weren't going out of their way to stand out like Zihao-san did. She smiled at him, "To be honest, I had expected you would've forgotten about me.
" She held up her phone with the message. Her voice was hard enough to hear under the best circumstances and right now, she would end up ruining her vocal cords in a matter of minutes if she tried to speak loud enough.
She glanced at the beautiful woman next to him with a brief pang of jealousy before bottling it up with a smile. After all, Zihao-san was gaijin nobility and she was the orphan child of a merchant. She could hear Bungoro in her head, You want him! Seduce him! Give me decendents you fool child wench!
She could hear him say more, but for some reason whatever he said after simply escaped her mind.Nobuyumi

Hoshi stared in awe at the academy. This was it, the Edo Bugei Academy, were Scions went to train and control their powers. According to the information sent to her phone, this would be her home for the next four years. She picked up her back and slung it on her back. Aside from a few changes of clothes and her "art" (smut) books, she had her naginata in its softcase along with the supplies to maintain it. She entered the middle building, unsure of which one was supposed to be the girl dorms, but guessing that it would be as separate as possible from the boys dorms.
The inside was...well, it was about as much as could be expected considering it was apparently run by the shogunate and everybody was either nobility or otherwise entrusted with great power. To Hoshi, it felt like chaos. There were boys and girls intermingling all over the place, a small group having what appeared to be a mock fight. And then her eyes of course, being better than most, saw that there were a few couples suckling each other's faces off. Hoshi could only imagine what Masami would say and do had she seen this. Her signature smile brightened a bit before she started to try and get help, "excuse me," the boy simply ignored her and kept walking, "excus-" the group of girls walked past talking loudly about some band. Hoshi sighed, if she could speak even slightly louder, maybe she wouldn't have this problem. All she could do was stand and look helpless, hoping someone would notice her before curfew.

So I have been told that keeping a journal of my time in Edo Bugei is important. I don't know why the metsuke told me this. Maybe because they want to know about the transition from shrine maiden to soldier of Japan? Anyway, I arrived in Edo the other day, and nothing of particular note happened until yesterday when it was announced that we would have visitors from other countries. Why the shogun would allow gaijin anywhere near the school seems to be a popular discussion among the senpai. However, I'm sure he has good reasons and I'm a bit excited to meet some of these people. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous or scared. Considering my speech impediment, I'm not sure how well I'd be able to interact with our guests.
Anyway, they are supposed to be coming tomorrow, from china. I hope that they aren't mean people, that would suck
HAIR: white (dyed from black)
BODY TYPE: Svelte
STYLE: typically wears feminine clothing such as dresses, skirts and blouses. Doesn't like to wear formal clothing so it usually looks a bit sloppy unless she absolutely has to look nice. Prefers low cut tops on account of hating having things around her neck. Often wears earrings and bracelets.
OTHER: A faint scar around her neck, wears a red bracer on her right arm all the time.
Hoshi is a quiet person who typically fades into the background. She keeps her emotions in check and is often smiling even when she is sad or hurting. She is determined, sometimes to the point of idiotically stubborn.
Her inability to express herself has left her feeling isolated from people. She tries to be friendly to anyone who she thinks is good, though she can be vindictive if she feels like someone has deserved it.

The loss of her parents at an early age has made her a bit overly attached to the friends that she does have. Aside from being fiercely protective,
she tends to be clingy and become stressed or nervous if she doesn't speak to them on a daily basis.
STRENGTHS: Strong willed, optimistic, studious, honest, fast
WEAKNESSES: has difficulty connecting to people, can be very hateful, prone to misunderstanding social mores.
LIKES: dogs, "art" (it's really porn, she isn't fooling anyone), reading, sleeping
DISLIKES: things around her neck, loud sounds, large crowds, birds (They make her uncomfortable, crows in particular just plain freak her out), airplanes
AMBITIONS: Nothing particularly grand. Most people want to have power or wealth or fame, Hoshi simply wants to have a family again.
If you'd like to be a traditional student you may delete everything in this section after "weapon"
WEAPON: A naginata. It is a simple looking black metal pole about four feet long and the blade on the end is two feet long. The blade has "Hikita Kage-ryu" inlaid in silver on the side.
RELIC: A rather plain looking red bracer, said to have been worn during Bungoro's duel with Yagyū Muneyoshi.
RELIC OWNER: Hikita Bungoro
OWNER HISTORY: Hikita Bungoro was the nephew of the famous Kamiizumi Hidetsuna and a gifted swordsman in his own right. He was sent by Hozoin In'ei to duel Yagyū Muneyoshi. Having been chosen specifically to underestimate Muneyoshi's ability. Bungoro landed several blows with his shinai in the course of the duel, causing the spectators to be greatly impressed. Bungoro went and founded his own branch of Shinkage-ryu.
ACTIVATED ABILITY 1: Blinkstep. Hoshi moves faster than the eye can track up to ten yards. She can only move in a straight line using this ability and regardless of distance traveled, this ability uses up the same amount of power. (One turn cooldown.)
ACTIVATED ABILITY 2: Dancing Blade. Five spectral blades form and follow the path of the blade of Hoshi's weapon, increasing the damage she can cause by 50% (10% per each spectral blade that lands a hit). If the attack is blocked, the spectral blades shatter.(Three turn cooldown.)
LOCKED ACTIVATED ABILITY 3: Eight Blades Mirage. Hoshi is moving so fast that it looks like she is is commanding an army of spectral blades. In reality, each spectral blade marks where the blade of her weapon had been. Each spectral blade that hits deals an added 10% damage up to 80%.(Five turns cooldown.)
PASSIVE 1: Celestial Sight. Hoshi's eyes have become incredibly sharp, allowing her to see in the dark.
LOCKED PASSIVE 2: Lock On. Hoshi can immediately locate one weak point in her opponent's defenses. The longer she looks at someone, the more weak points she can locate. She is unable to see more than three weaknesses. She sees one extra weakness per round up to the max.
LOCKED AWAKENED MODE COLOR: Red
AWAKENED ATTACK: Ten Thousand Blades Rain From the Heaven. Hoshi is moving at near impossible speeds and striking powerful blows. To the naked eye,
it looks like she's cloned herself ten times but someone with the skill and/or experience can see exactly where she is. She can use it for three rounds before passing out

FAMILY: (If you have faceclaims in mind please note them.)
• Hikita Daiki, a merchant and Hoshi's father (deceased)
• Hikita Kazue, a musician and Hoshi's mother (deceased)
• NPC Mentor: Yotsuba Masami, a priestess for the local temple, Kazue's best friend and Hoshi's adoptive mother
Born to an upper middle class family, Hoshi had it pretty good. Daiki was well respected and Kazue lovingly took care of her as a child. She had a beautiful singing voice and had planned on becoming a famous musician. When she turned five, her parents decided to take her to Edo for a surprise. Part of that surprise was riding on an airplane. Hoshi was so very excited about the trip and watched in wonder as the ground shrank below them and even the clouds seemed small. It also meant she had a perfect view of a murder of crows getting caught and jamming up the engines. The planes crashed and Hoshi couldn't remember what happened until she found herself unable to breathe. A piece of wreckage was pressed against her throat and her panicked flailing did nothing to get her free of her entrapment. Convinced she was going to die, she lay there weeping silently, unable to make even a sound.

The next thing she remembered was waking up, which confused her since she was supposed to be dead. The doctors all told her she was the only survivor of the wreck and that it was a miracle she had gotten away almost completely unharmed with the exception of her throat and some bruises. Hoshi's life started to spiral at that point. Gone was the girl who could sing and dreamed of music. She became passively rebellious and because she couldn't speak above a loud whisper anymore, grew to be hateful towards the people who had once claimed to be friends of herself and her family who were trying to take advantage of her tragedy.
Hoshi was fought over as various "friends" of her father tried to lay claim on her inheritance. The back and forth continued until the will was read and she was sent to the local temple to be raised by the head priestess who was her mother's best friend. Masami took care of Hoshi and raised her with gentle firmness. Hoshi was taught how to care for herself and Masami even instructed her in Hikita Kage-ryu. At age ten, she became a shrine maiden and started to become more obedient under the love and affection Masami constantly showed all the girls under her care.
One day, Hoshi was cleaning the the storehouse where the temple relics were kept when she accidentally knocked over a small object. Without thinking, she caught it and felt an energy flow through her and images of of a person moving swiftly like wind flowed through her mind. It took Hoshi a moment to realize that she had awakened a Relic. Fearful of the consequences knowing how Masami had warned them of the dangers of not being careful around spiritual forces and punished those who got careless sternly, Hoshi hid the bracer. However, the metsuke arrived a couple days later and Masami was about to have all the girls turn out their possessions to find out who had drawn the enforcers of the shogun's attention. Hoshi spoke up and produced the bracer as proof of her words. She had heard of Scions and their terrible power, afraid that her friends and mentor would be harmed, she agreed to join the training to be accepted into Edo Bugei Academy.
Now, after three years of private instruction, she has been declared ready to join a world far beyond her imagination.
