Sorry Suishoku motioned with her hand to the new girl Kurome. She mostly went along with the idea for multiple reasons. The first being her wish to have a karaoke booth, the second was for Aiko to be happy, and the third mostly out of fear that the act of turning down the hitokiri of the school would lead to issues. Greater issues no less to be suffered once any of his fans catch wind at school. It would be easier to be assaulted with questions of 'how it was' than 'how dare you refuse Ikuzi-sama'.

They left their table for the arrangements that Izuki-senpai's friend Shiro made for them. She wasn't all too keen about the energetic guy but he seemed compliant to their wishes. The girls were granted entry to a very chic looking booth with mini lights flashing, a tv, and plenty of seating space between the five of them. Suishoku climbed into the both on the left side and sat there with the tea she carried with her the whole way. Aiko helped herself to the booklet before starting her own ideas.

"Wager!? L-Like...what?" Suishoku slurped her tea quickly and coughed a little while asking this. More importantly, aside from the song choices, Suishoku raised her hand in objection to one minor detail. "So it's a One for All challenge, since there's five of us here, but really what are we wagering at all?" She thought in all curiosity. This wasn't an adult gathering of course and the numbers won't allow teams. While it ruled out several things, the girl did wonder if she was now about to experience a rather devilish side of innocent first year Aiko.

Kurome sighed as they agreed upon getting a booth and have a private karaoke session. Kai walked up to the girls from his place behind his friend and starting speaking to them. "Thank you for allowing us to join you, I apologies for Shiro's behavior. He means well but forgive us if we have intruded on you." Kurome snorted from her nose and turned her head as his friend returned with keys to the room. When Suishoku walked by and mouthed 'sorry', Kurome wondered if it was obvious she didn't like Kai. She frowned, crossed her arms, and followed the group into the room.

When they entered the room, Kurome was a little surprised. She was not expecting the booth to be so clean, or neat. She took a seat near the end on the left side, next to Aiko, as far away from Kai as she could. This mean she was still in front of him, however. The girl averted her eyes and looked down at the song book.

"Maybe it would be fun to do things differently. What if we each wrote down a song, dropped it into a hat and then we have to sing the one we pull out randomly! Everyone here is really good, so it might be more interesting if we have a bit of a challenge added to it." Kurome looked up to Aiko and nodded. That idea sounded really good. "It would give us a chance to practice outside of our comfort zone too..." Kurome added on, nodding her head and agreeing, her eyes flicking over to Kai. Boy, she did not want to sing in front of him. What if he judged her and ended up telling her how to correct her singing? She was far better than Kai, surely he would't! Yet he also had corrected her form in training too, so she wasn't sure. She looked back down at her book while the chatter picked up around her. "Should we wager something?"

"Wager!? L-Like...what?" Kurome wondered too what sort of wager they would have.
"So it's a One for All challenge, since there's five of us here, but really what are we wagering at all?"
"What if the wager was a round of creampuffs for the group?" The girl tilted her head and smirked. Creampuffs were delicious. Plus the idea seemed fair yet not too harsh enough to want people to win or lose. It seemed childish and lesser than other ideas that popped into her head, but after all, was -was- there to wager?

Kai looked at Korume and frowned a bit. He had encountered her before in a training session. She was rather full of herself and her style and had taken offence to Kai offering simple advice. He could tell she still disliked him. He sighed softly to himself. She had seem so offended by his actions even though he had held back the entire fight.

He turned his head away from her and looked and Shiro who was as always sitting there with a dumb smile of his face. "A wager~? hmm, sounds good. I can easily afford a round for us all!" Shiro responded happily. Kai looked at him and spokes softly. "Shiro it's rude to flaunt money around like that." He gave him a disapproving look as Shiro grabbed a black coffee mug and wrote a few song on a list before ripping them up and putting them in the cup.

"Hey, on a Hitokiri pay check I can afford it!"
He stuck his tongue out at Kai. Kai sighed softly and sipped his drink gently. Shiro looked at all the girls. "if you don't mind I'll go first." He said and reached into the cup pulling out a song name. "Oh this one sounds interesting." Shiro walked over to the machine and sorted through the sound list humming gently to himself before finding it and pressing play picking up the microphone.

He began to sing.

Kai hummed softly to the melody watching his friend sing till he was done. Shiro turned once finished and set it down on the table. "Who's next?"

A round of puffs for the losers. Suishoku nodded and somewhat accepted those terms. It was surprisingly a safe kind of wager which made her relaxed to try at her wager. The blonde male of the boy's team went first to pick a very soothing kind of song after some money flaunting. At first she assumed he was using Izuki-senpai's money to be paying for it till his words replayed in her head. He's a hitokiri too!? The girl quickly paled in her realization of this. Not only was Izuki-senpai here but one other known killer of Japan!? Her mind was on edge that they were generally having a song off against two of Edo's top killers over cream puffs! Then, his song played.

It felt like a country side setting as she hummed and swayed a little to the song. Who exactly put that in the hat, she wondered, but it was a wonderful song for the young man to carry through with it. It wasn't til the song was over she the question pass around of who will go next. Obviously, it was someone on the girl's side as Suishoku looked around to Kurome and Aiko. Kurome seemed to keep glaring at Izuki-senpai mostly and Aiko was buried in the song book.

"Guess I'll go," Suishoku spoke up and got up to search through the music listings for a a song she wasn't too familiar with but enjoyed it regardless. As she picked the song on the screen did it the speakers string out a electronic sound of its opening chords. "Yosh." She smiled some at the right version and pressed play.

Song

Suishoku sang not at 100% but tried to match what the originally singer wanted to convey with the mic in hand and stretching out her free arm and fingers to the small audience in their private booth. She did, however, tried to avoid direct eye contact by looking more over the shoulders of the other students in order to hold off against a level of embarrassment to be signing in front of the seemingly more accomplished Hitokiri and his friend.

The girl thought it was a little stuck up to flaunt his money around, but it was nice of him to offer to buy a round of those cream puffs - especially since they were so delicious! He got up to sing and she swayed to the gentle song. Kurome lightly applauded as Shiro finished his song. He was actually pretty good, as Kurome was familiar with the song.

Suishoku was next. Kurome found the song she was singing unfamiliar, but it sounded like a song that would appear on Dance Dance Central - a game she happened to love. Of course since it was random karaoke, Kurome wasn't sure anyone knew what to sing, really. Even Yuubae-san was having a hard time trying to keep up to the upbeat song. Nethertheless, Kurome clapped when she finished. "That was great!" She cheered on as the girl sat down, looking slightly embarrassed.

The hat was passed to her. She guessed it was her turn and wondered if the machine was keeping score. It seemed to rate them much like the singer portion of rockband did! Kurome grabbed a little slip and read the paper. She grinned. This song was a popular radio song; you know, one of those songs that gets on your nerves but she knew all the words too. Perfect!

Song!

The girl found it coincidental that the songs they picked were matching their gender with the singers. She stood up and grabbed the microphone as the song begin to play. She started singing along, hitting the notes perfectly. When she reached the chorus, she grinned and yelled "sing with me!" As she sang along to the catchy tune.

When the song was over, Kurome grinned and sat down back in her place. She passed the hat onto the next person, wondering what song would be next.

Kai and Shiro clapped as each of the girls respectively performed their songs. "Wow you guys did fantastic!" Shiro called out laughing happily while loudly clapping. Kai clapped as well but quieter, he did have a small smile on his face though. It was an odd feeling, he felt relaxed which wasn't really something he was used too. He was used to always being on edge. It was nice to finally let go a bit.

Shiro turned to Kai and poked him. "Hey Kai it's your turn to go!" Shiro gave Kai a teasing look and Kai stood up. "A...Alright, hmmm..." He looked through the song list to find something he felt comfortable singing. Kai wasn't used to singing, but he had done training for it after all as an assassin he had to be able to blend into any environment. He settled on a song that seemed simple enough and he pressed play picking up the microphone.

Kai swayed a bit to the music before raising the microphone up and beginning to sing.

After it was over Kai sat back down. He was a little red and sipped his drink for a moment before speaking. There was only one more girl who had to go, Aiko. She stood up and was looking at songs before her phone rang. Aiko answered it began to speak with whoever was on the other side. She hung up and sadly informed the group she had to leave on family business. Kai waved his goodbye and Shiro bowed. "See you later!" As Aiko left Kai turned to the group and spoke "So.. who do you think won? I'll vote for Kurome." He said nodding at her. Shiro punched his arm. "Well I vote for Suishoku-Chan! Who do you guys pick?"

She sat down with her head hung from keeping up, the song with techno parts often throw her off due to the custom editing and pacing of the song made it harder to keep up than ballads who had a set pace most of the time. Looking at the machine, her score looked a bit in the higher than average. The number had her wondering if she was that good or that the machine only gave her points for keeping up with the lyrics. Kurome got up next with a choice from the hat with a very cutesy song that Suishoku wasn't sure to be surprised by; the fact the song existed in the machine or who was the person to throw that song in there.

"Did we accidentally rig this something?" She wondered to herself while Kurome asked for her audience to join her. Susihoku waved her hands at her embarrassed to pass although the song did make her feel happy despite the odd chorus lyrics. In came Kai's turn with a male song that continued to fit a stage appearance but wasn't one she was familiar with along with its erratic pacing. It's a wonder Izuki-senpai managed to nail it but his reddened face seemed to make it look like the guy was running out of breath.

Now that everyone sang, it was up to a vote on who won their group challenge. Oddly enough did the boys split their votes that Suishoku rubbed the back of her neck embarrassed to be praised by hitokiri. "T-Thanks. I think between the two songs, I liked Shiro-san's more. What about you ,Kurome?"

Though, if this all turned out to be a four way tie then what can they do for a tie breaker?

It was Kai's turn next. Kurome glanced away and frowned. She tried to tune him out as he sang a song that she was unfamiliar with. She turned her head away and kept staring up and to the left corner of the room but she found herself looking at him out of the corner of her eye. Finally she gave in and turned to watch him. As much as she hated to admit it, he was pretty decent.

She clapped half heartedly as he finished. It was Aiko's turn next but suddenly she received a phone call and had to go. "Bye Aiko!" She waved as the girl left, wondering if things were okay. No matter.

Suishoku brought the group back to attention, looking at the scoreboard and asking if it was rigged. Kurome shrugged. "Maybe it's just randomized." She pitched in. Suishoku liked Shiro's song, and Shiro seemed to like Suishoku's song, whereas Kai liked her. Which made Kurome blush. Kai actually liked her song, huh? Strange. It was just a cheesy pop song. Maybe it was because she was dancing. She was thinking too much. She frowned as they decided on who was best. Kurome shrugged and crossed her arms, looking away. "I guess I liked Kai's the best." She mumbled.

And then she realized it was a tie. Everyone had picked everyone else. Kurme looked around the room, slightly worried. "Well if this is a tie, how do we determine the winner?"

Kai raised an eyebrow as Kurome stated she liked his best. It was an odd feeling. What little he knew of her from sparring was that she was a prideful girl. While this was not always a bad thing it didn't tend to help in the end. Had she let go of the grudge she held for him? He hoped so after all he had no ill will towards her. He turned his face to look over at Shiro. The excited boy was taping his chin trying to decide what course of action to take due to the tie.

"Hmmm, I'm not sure and it is growing rather late out side Kurome Chan."
Shiro hung his head in slight disappointment pointing to the dark sky outside the neon lit window. Kai tilted his head and looked outside as well. Time had flown by rather fast. Whilst he was enjoying himself he must have lost track of time. He pulled out his phone and noted it as about 7pm.

"Seems we have a little bit of time left before we should be going. Why not meet up again? The competition need not end here." Kai suggested putting his phone away. "I don't mind going another round if you wish although after than me and Shiro must take our leave." Shiro slumped over letting out a whine in protest as Kai slapped him gently on the head.

Shiros eyes perked up and he turned to the girls. "Why don't we exchange numbers then? Keep in touch and hang out whenever... I mean if you guys want to that is." He smiled widely at them. Kai raised an eyebrow slightly. Kai wouldn't really mind it, the company was nice as well. He sighed and nodded.

"That is fine with me. If the girls are okay with it."
He said looking at the karaoke screen. He didn't really want to go back to the dorms, that would mean going back to work as well as dodging fangirls and the other students rushing to try and get his attention. Of course the girls would have the final say in the matter.

Suishoku set the microphones back on their stands as the boys mentioned how late it was. If they removed the blinds of their little booth room, sure enough, the evening colored sky had taken over. So it has gotten this late already, the girl thought while the boys discussed over what to really do. Now with how far time has gotten would it be more apparent that it would be roughly two more hours till school curfew and that's a bit of a walk from the Toshima ward back to Bugei.

"Seems we have a little bit of time left before we should be going. Why not meet up again? The competition need not end here."

That was the answer! Suishoku looked to Kai with a genuine smile at the idea. From how a lot of Bugei seemed to run for her, things had to be done now. There was no later unless their team or class was forced to and even then did the task always feel like something that needed to be accomplished right away. The boys seemed to talk directly to Kurome more though, from what Suishoku could tell, as she busied herself with putting the karaoke books away. "How about we all get something nice to drink after all that singing?" She suggested after their stand off of a four way tie. Everyone did vote to each other in the end.

"Why don't we exchange numbers then? Keep in touch and hang out whenever... I mean if you guys want to that is."

"I don't mind this."

Suishoku took out her phone and brought up he screen where he two senpai could read her number clearly during the exchange. After doing his, Suishoku came up with another idea to pitch. "I think we ought to make a plan for next time in case we run into another tie." When looking back on how the evening went, as fun as it was, their little challenge game could use some organization. Ever since her mock attempt to make a co-op meet with two clubs, did Suishoku try to consider putting more thought to plans than relying on people to show up and somehow figure it out as they meet.

Kurome listened to them talk and nodded at appropriate times. She looked out the window when prompted by Shiro that it was late, and blinked. Where had the time gone? Out the window? She giggled quietly to herself as they decided how to split the tie. Kai suggested they leave since it was late, and pick back up another time. Kurome sighed and frowned a bit. It sounded fun to stay and try to split the tie with another round!

But alas, they were right. It was getting late. At this point Suishoku seemed to busy herself with her books while the boy seemed to focus on her. She frowned and crossed her arms, keeping her view more on Shiro than Kai. "How about we all get something nice to drink after all that singing?" Yuubae-san suggested, and Kurome nodded. "That's a good idea. Maybe there's a good tea shop nearby?" She tilted her head and questioned the others.

When Shiro suggested they exchange numbers, she shrugged and pulled her purple phone out with a dangling kitty charm on it. She looked between the four of them and grinned. "Maybe it would be best if we all just passed our phones left, entered our numbers in, until we get our on phone back!"

"I think we ought to make a plan for next time in case we run into another tie." Kurome nodded as they exchanged numbers amongst each other."How about a simple game of rock paper scissors?" It seemed easy enough. They could break ties with the ultimate tie breaker of all!

Rock paper scissors would sovle everything but their rental time for the booth was up as a notice chime played from the machine. They all exchanged numbers for a round and headed out as a well content group woth their senpais treating the girls out for some light soft drinks and tea. Suishoku left most of the talking to Kurome and Izuki-senpai's friend while joining as the tag along. Contently was the girl just happy that meeting the senior boys weren't as troubling as she first thought; especially thanks to their reputation as Hitokiri. At the time, neither of girls would ever realize that this small run in was just the start of several meetings down the road.
