Sengoku Horizon

Look towards the Horizon

The Warring States Period: Fierce warlords fought for control of Japan, and many would perish. When a warrior falls, where does the passion they once held go? Possibly into something dear such as a favorite weapon or heirloom. These heirlooms have been labeled as “relics”, and those that carry them are labeled as “Scions." Recently more and more of these special relics have been activating, signaling the start of a great change as ancient power meets the modern world!

Now For The Local News, 06/01/2018 The Chinese delegation have now arrived at the city of Edo. Making friends and learning about Edo Culture is their current aim! In other news it is also time for the school dance event! Please bring your characters along!

Kitsu seemed a little disappointed in the answer he got. He supposed that he could go through the process of requesting a weapon, but the money involved might be a bit much, even with any sort of student discount. And he wanted one faster than the years of training and practice required to make one on his own. He sighed and moved his thoughts to more criminal ways of getting what he wanted, but that would just end up being even more expensive than doing it the regular way.

He grumbled to himself and focused back onto the class, catching the last bit of explanation coming from the instructor. He spoke about the task being complete, and asked if anyone had any more questions, and Kitsu had none. He would follow suit with another student who spoke before him and thank the instructor as well with a small but respectful bow added to the end.

RPC POST

As the instructor spoke Masato looked back at the spears the group had both made, and failed to make. The instructor explained that not everything was straight forward and people would constantly change or be unclear about orders. Which made sense for lords and such, or people who's needs changed as time went on such as in a battle. He couldn't really bring himself to fault such people, after all things changed over time. Though he did nod in response to the teacher warning them of such situations. In his mind it meant that he would make sure when requesting items from the school's workshops that he was sure it would be what he needed for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately the instructor also answered Masato's gun question. The boy was from the tactician class, so he already figured he knew most of the answer. However reading on gun theory and hearing from someone who actually constructed the weapons in question where two very different things. Masato listened carefully before giving a polite bow.
"Thank you, Sensei." he said quietly and respectfully.

By all account the class was now over and all questions answered. Masato had already thanked the man, and the class now seemed to have nothing left to discuss. Thus he made a quick double check of himself. His hair was out of place and his skin more sweaty than he would prefer, but that was to be expected.
"I am grateful for all you have taught us. Have a good day Sensei." he said before turning and giving a polite bow to his two fellow students.
"As well as you two." it was unusually polite and formal, however it was the type of formality that also didn't leave room for conversation, on purpose. Masato had learned a lot today about crafting and guns and needed to make notes before he started forgetting. Casualness and bonding could come later, using this class as a jump off point when he tried to talk to either of the boys another day. Thus, with farewells complete, Masato returned to his dorm to write.

NPC POST

With that done the Sensei didn't stop the three boys from leaving the workshop. By all accounts the class was now done. Once the students had left he sighed and walked over to the spears they had all made. He was a bit blunt with them, mostly due to their obvious gun obsession when he was just trying to teach them the basics of smithing. Yet over all, as he picked up and examined their failed attempts, he was still impressed. Through messing around the students had seemed, by the end, to understand how to make the most basic of metal spear.

"Eh, not too bad of kids." he said as he looked towards the door they had left out of. Unfortunately, he couldn't use any of the spears the students had made for the orders he had at the moment, but they certainly weren't bad students by any means. Thus, cranking up one of the furnaces as high as he could he threw all of the spears, both failures and successes, into the furnace to melt them back down. He didn't feel bad about destroying the student's work of corse. After all he did this every time. However he did hope that those three in particular would come back for more smithing training later.

"I guess that's what you call natural talent." and as their spears started melting Oda-sensei walked outside the room. He hadn't had a cigarette that entire time and it was killing him as he lit up. Taking a drag and blowing out the smoke into the fresh air he looked around the campus. When he had first come to Edo-Bugei he felt so lost. He was sure he would fail as a teacher. Yet, after working with the students, protecting the school from rebels, and saving more than his fair share of scared students during the Ikko War, he was finally feeling pretty good about himself.

It would still be a few days but about a week later all three students would receive their grades for the class and notes saying that points had been added to their school accounts. Just as the teacher had promised, all three students had received full marks, and even a note requesting they attend further smithing classes later on.
