While you all may be content with Edo Bugei or shocked by the utter lack of respect of your class difference due to being 'all students' here, I hope these idealistic thoughts don't break those individuals too hard once they leave Edo Bugei's safety. Not every lord or head would just welcome commoners or their own rank and file to speak to them as former classmates. One could say that those who disagree on the accomplishments would take open invitations to their advantage.
Surely not even yourselves once returning to your home clans to start ruling over the people within your boarders. Let's not forget the political disorder among the people and their critical views of their own clan lords and those who came before us. Does Bugei really prepare its individuals for ruling Japan's future? To rule what land you'll soon inherit successfully at the cost of losing all of which your previous successors have strived for? What of those who strives to be famous warriors and tacticians? You're really only so useful till death or reduced back to common civilian status.
Let's face it, when failing the people, be lucky the option of stepping down to a citizen status is there once the Shogun reinstates a better ruler for your province if not give up the land for a neighboring clan to readily take up.
May this word of caution not haunt you when this equality charade ends.
