Taito Ward is a large ward in Northern Edo with a heavy focus on temples. However, other areas of interest exist alongside these beautiful dedications to the gods.
Senso-Ji: A beautiful temple complex painted brilliant shades of red. The temple complex is dedicated to the Buddhist Bodhisattva Kannon. During the day it is a place of festivals and worship, but during the night the temple grounds and adjacent Nakamise-Dōri street are used as a night market full of delicious foods.
Nakamise Shopping Street: The home of night market shopping in Taito Ward. A long strip full of shops that are closed most of the morning and open late day, become extremely active at night. Everything from purposes to toys to street market food can be found along this trip. It is a great place to casually go and mingle with friends in the evening.
Sumida Riverside Park: This beautiful park in Northern Edo was made with funds gathered by the various temples in the area. The park itself is fairly small but nicely sectioned off and kept clean by the temple monks. The main attraction is the beautiful view of the river and the multiple river boats that can hold anywhere from two people to thirty!
