Sengoku Horizon

Look towards the Horizon

The Warring States Period: Fierce warlords fought for control of Japan, and many would perish. When a warrior falls, where does the passion they once held go? Possibly into something dear such as a favorite weapon or heirloom. These heirlooms have been labeled as “relics”, and those that carry them are labeled as “Scions." Recently more and more of these special relics have been activating, signaling the start of a great change as ancient power meets the modern world!

Now For The Local News, 04/01/2018 The Chinese delegation have now arrived at the city of Edo. They have come to learn more about the state of Japan, the Shogunate, and it's Scions. We will be having a Lunar New Year's celebration, a school dance, and a combat tournament with them!

Junko nodded. No Shogun meeting, that was probably for the best? She wasn't sure but there did seem to be a whole lot of new boons that could turn this project into a reality, a very successful reality at that. Forget six or seven people going out twice a month, she could have squads. Actual, efficient, fully functional squads going out into the forest and clearing it out. Of course, she'd go out too, you didn't lead from the rear or make people do stuff you wouldn't be willing too. But still, whole groups of people and she'd be, sort of, in charge. Mother couldn't turn her nose at that, especially once the Shogun was involved.

"Thank you, sir." Junko bowed. She looked over the papers as he gathered them. She had the documents saved, both in their roughest form on the lined note paper and on her electronics. She'd made this stack special, for people to handle and look over and make notes on. It was nice paper, she'd wanted it to look as official and professional as possible. "You can keep them. They aren't exactly labeled perfectly though."

It wasn't like her speech was written on them, they were like a guideline, she would be pointing out which pages to turn to. Now, maybe less so. But hopefully the whole of the documents could handle itself even without her around.

Ajibana gave a formal nod.
"Thank you." he said and began putting the documents together and placing them into two folders he took from a near by table top. On the tags of the folders he wrote "part 1" and "part 2" respectively. Then put them both together before pulling out some lengths of string and binding the two folders together tightly.

"I'll deliver these to the Shogun personally. Though the earliest I could meet with him will likely be in a week or two. Right now we have a series of jobs we are taking care of due to the soon arrival of a group of Chinese students to Edo. I'm sure you've heard of it. It is taking our full attention right now." his face seemed slightly pained. Ajibana likely wasn't racist, but it was more so because the Metsuke forces would have to inspect various key places of the city such as the port, Central Edo, and even Edo Bugei for anti-chinese propaganda, racist people, even more Ikko hide outs, and other such things.

"I think that is all I will need. Do you have any other matters you want to discuss with me? I still have a bit of time before I need to begin working on some documents for the Chinese ship's stay at port." it was clear that the man still had a very long day ahead of him. However Junko was already here, and it wasn't as though Ajibana was looking forwards to what would likely be three hours of drafting, checking, and getting documents signed and then faxed to the Chinese mainland, as well as to the docks and School. A lot of work was going into making sure the Chinese students would have safe lodging for both themselves, and their vessel. Though these all happened to be things Junko had no need to be concerned about.

Junko bowed again. "Thank you for this meeting, sir. I hope that I have not intruded too much upon your time." She'd done well so far so no reason to screw it up now by being not quite polite enough. Besides, Ajibana had agreed, mostly. It seemed like the man wanted to help her make this project succeed. Probably this was as close as a done deal as you could get without any official signatures. Junko felt pretty darn proud of herself for getting this far and there was a lot to be proud of.

"Yes sir, I have." She replied, it was all anyone talked about in the school lately. Junko would like to meet them but there was just so much other stuff going on right now. The biggest thing, this meeting for this plan was the most time intensive and draining part of her life. Well, maybe second most considering mother was in town but they kind of combined into one giant ball of dread and suffering. Now, though, the plan was out of her hands and it was down to time and the decisions of adults. One weight lifted was nothing to sneeze at. Maybe there'd be time to get to meet the new foreigners now, if she could get away from her mother.

"And no sir, there's nothing else I think I need to discuss." She glanced down at her hands in case she'd somehow missed a sheet of paper still there. Obviously there wasn't but it was natural to worry about forgetting something at the end of an important meeting. When she was dismissed, Junko headed out to the open air where there was safety and the weight could float off into the open sky. Now she had to return to her mother but with cheer in her heart. She couldn't wait to tell everyone the news. But she'd wait until she was out of the grounds before she pulled out her phone.

Ajibana watched Junko leave and got up to close the office door and make sure Junko was away from the castle grounds. To assist with this, as Junko left the office Ajibana called two guards walking around to escort her out. Going back to his office he looked over the papers before leaning back in his chair. Between this, and the incoming Chinese students life was certainly staying busy in Edo. Even now, as he had told Junko, he was even dealing with the fallout from the Ikko attack on Edo still. Either way, he certainly had his hands full.

"Cleaning Aokigahara huh?" he said to himself quietly as he looked at a large map of the Edo area he kept on one of the walls.
"That kid certainly had their heart in the right place." with that he looked down at the papers and started organizing them by date due and importance. Pulling out various folders and tags he organized several things on his desk. Part of him wished the Edo Bugei students would volunteer to do his paperwork, though he knew that would never happen. Still the elderly man had to give himself some leeway for jokes from time to time, even if internal. He knew someday Junko would be someone great. He could feel it. In fact he knew many of the Bugei students would be. Sadly, he wasn't sure he would be around that long.

For now, however, he began work on organizing everything and thinking about how he would present his papers to the Shogun, and more importantly, when in fact he could.
