The Warring States Period: Fierce warlords fought for control of Japan, and many would perish. When a warrior falls, where does the passion they once held go? Possibly into something dear such as a favorite weapon or heirloom. These heirlooms have been labeled as “relics”, and those that carry them are labeled as “Scions." Recently more and more of these special relics have been activating, signaling the start of a great change as ancient power meets the modern world!

Now For The Local News, 11/01/2017 The dust has cleared after a fierce clash against the rebel Ikko Ikki monks. Now, as a tense period of calm spread over the island nation of Japan the students of Edo Bugei must figure out how to proceed in life after experience such intense conflicts and such deep loss.

Within Edo Bugei near the shoe entrance within the building, a tree was erected in paper decorations, blown glass, and candy put together by various secretive students. It was a size able fern to take up a blank corner where many had turned and headed for class. It shined and glowed gently in the dim light but it was far from a lonely tree. Many visitors had visited it and left their own piece of decoration.

Beneath the skirt of the tree rested a pile of presents of various decorations and shapes. It was here that these all rested in a colorful pile awaiting their new owners to pick them up. A student made event made up the bulk of these gifts for a secret someone many would not rightly know. Written on the outside of the packages and tagged were usernames of students on the school BBS as the only means of identification. While some who do know each other outside of the forums and handed gifts in person, these boxes rested for those who did not know. Boxes that laid in wait if such events happened that the recipient has gone away during this winter season and into the new year.

A rounded box in silver wrapping paper with a red ribbon sealing it rests among the pile. Holly pinned the ribbon secure with tape with a tag attached to it. In stylized gold marker, it read simply : To H. There was some weight to the box but felt rather light over all.

A small dark blue box with snowflake wrapping paper sat a top of a larger package. It looked small in size and nearly dwarfed by the large bow and tag reading ShinsTo4. The large bow and tag likely to compensate how small the box ended up being among the pile. Next to it rested a bag of rice crackers also labeled for ShinsTo4. If shaken, the box rattled lightly.

A tall and slightly rounded cylinder rested on the pile. Around its neck was a bright green and silver tinted ribbon around its neck over a plain red wrapping paper with 'Happy Christmas, Mirai_xX' written in black ink. It looked solid and made a somewhat hallow thunk sound if dropped or tapped against but something long did stir inside.

Suishoku:

The secret santa idea was most thrilling, Suishoku was only upset that she didn't think of the idea first as she arrived at the tree with a bemused look. A tree and a cluster of presents under it with all its glittering charm. Just on her way out of the school and stopping by to collect the mystery prize. She took out a slip of paper and read off the given partner. The name seemed like it should be clear who it belonged to but Suishoku didn't think someone would use their real name for their student forum.

Finding the package from a Mirai_xX, it was a fairly large box than expected. Curious, she picked it up and shook it to find it light with some loose rattling of multiple things. Happy enough to get partnered with a secret santa at all, Suishoku took the box with her to open later at the new dorms, humming along a christmas tune.

Mikazuki:

She slowly sneaked over to the tea when she thought someone was around, waiting to dig through the presents for one addressed to her user name. It was oddly nervous of her to be checking the tree with care but she had hoped to go in, grab the gift, and leave without drawing much attention. This wasn't a holiday her family would celebrate due to its western culture so the gifting aspect had her most intrigued by it When she saw the coat was cleat did Mikazuki head over to the tree to find her prize wrapped in gold paper with a green ribbon at the top. Unable to contain herself, she tore at the packaging for a peek. No gift card or anything was to be found but the moment she saw the package of green tea and a set of tea cups, Mika grinned and giddily ran off to her room to try it right away.

A large rectangular flat box, wrapped in yellow paper with “Merry Christmas” printed in red over the paper. A small tag was taped to the front of the present. It read: “Happy Christmas and happy New Year, Tealeaf9!”. If the box is picked up and shaken, it doesn’t make a sound when moved from side to side but makes a slight rattling noise when shaken up and down.

Mirai looked at the tree with all the presents under it. After adding her own present to the pile, she began to peek at the tags of the presents to see if there was one addressed to her. She came across a cylinder wrapped in red paper with the words, “Happy Christmas, Mirai_xX” on it and smiled a little as she removed it from the pile.

She stepped away from the tree to open the present, shaking it as she walked, then tapping the side. She frowned at the sound it made: when she tapped it, it sounded kind of hollow, but when she shook it there was a small clink. Mirai shrugged and tore into the paper. After it was unwrapped, she turned the object over in her hands; it was a thermos, however the decorations on it made it look like it was made of bamboo. Those decorations were a charming touch. It made Mirai happy that the present would be a useful one - now she could take some tea or a nice hot soup out and about with her - and the pretty design on the thermos was a bonus, too. Mirai wished she knew who gave the present so she could thank them properly.

The thermos still made that small clink as she turned it over, so she unscrewed the lid and looked inside. She tipped the contents out into her hand - a brush of some kind (was it for calligraphy?) with a piece of paper rolled around the handle. She unrolled the paper and read the haiku with a smile. It was a cute little poem; she wondered if the giver had written it themselves. She also wondered about the moon kanji stamp: was it some kind of hint as to who gave the gift? If it was, she wished she knew how to decipher it. She really did want to thank the giver for such a nice present.

As it was, though, she’d probably never know. Mirai sighed and walked away.

A small square box wrapped with simple but elegant gold paper with silver patterns and topped with a green ribbon tied around the box. The box is rather heavy and rattles loosely if shaken. A label attached to the ribbon reads "Happy Christmas Mika_kyu"

Hideyoshi waited until there was no one else around before he headed over to the tree, dropping off his own gift before finding the one that had been left for him. He took the gift with him and wandered off to his room rather than open it in public.

The smell of mint wafted out of the box as he took in the sight of the scarf and mittens. They looked comfortable to be sure.

A simple wooden box with hand-painted flowers on its lid rested under the tree, light blue ribbon tied around it. If it were shaken there would be a dull but noticeable rattling inside. There was a tag attached to the ribbon with 'Tealeaf 9' written in rather fine penmanship. On the flip side of the note was a quick note: I hope this simple gift finds you well. Merry Christmas, Tealeaf 9!

Shinsuke decided to check out the tree early in the morning just after having some tea to help himself awaken. Also because it might help him avoid odd questions about how his hair was styled. Attempting to explain that to his friend had been hard enough on its own, so talking to a stranger about it wouldn't help much. This being the first time he'd done something like this, he was quite curious what he'd get. Smiling at the bow and rice crackers, he picked up the small gift and shook it a tiny bit. At that rattle he gently opened the gift and found a really nice bracelet and note. Sure it was a humble gift but it reminded him of his sister's a bit.. and that made his eyes tear up a tiny bit. More than that he was grateful for the gesture Tealeaf 9 had made, even if they had no idea who they were giving a gift to.

"It's fine," he thought aloud in response to the note, "I'm sure this will bring me a lot of luck this year." With that he slipped the bracelet on and headed off with a bit more spring in his step.
