KATAYAMA, MASATO no clan
HAIR: Short brown hair kept very clean and well groomed.
EYES: Dark green eyes that appear very focused.
BODY TYPE: Skinny
STYLE: Masato prefers to dress in semi-nice clothing. His clothing all looks like professional school attire but is still kept a bit baggy and relatively light in order to not impede his movement as much as most formal clothing usually would. Usually carries a cell phone, brown leather wallet, and a bag with a beautiful crane design on it that he keeps his laptop and a few notebooks in.
OTHER: small scar on his left eye brow.
Masato is a kind boy from a pretty standard family. Unlike others that are born geniuses Masato was born with a love of book and studying. All of his information was spent from hours of hard study inside of his room or private study rooms in libraries. He gets along well with others but doesn't tend to have much money, even as a third year. Due to this he is often seen asking people to split the costs of things like lunch or buying gifts for others. Most of his money is sent home to his family. Much of his fighting style is used to slowly make enemies tired or scare them away. He doesn't like the site of bloodshed or people getting hurt, so he tries to avoid killing unless its to defend his friends.
STRENGTHS: Good hearing, good at adapting plans to fit a situation, good at gradually wearing enemies down, charismatic.
WEAKNESSES: Extremely loud noises, reckless charges and assaults in the face of his plans, not good with charisma and moral, extremely dark places.
LIKES: Philosophy, fireflies, Noh plays, audio books, stargazing, free food, light displays, candles.
DISLIKES: People who enjoy violence, killing, seeing blood, beautiful women, extremely loud noises, dark places.
AMBITIONS: To understand relics and the deeper mysteries of the magical world.

WEAPON: Uses twin katana that almost never leave their black and gold sheathes. Uses a fighting style focusing heavily on careful movements so as to wear his enemy down and keep his own stamina up.
RELIC: Mitsuhide's relic is a special bell flower shaped katana guard made of gilded steel.
RELIC OWNER: Akechi Mitsuhide
OWNER HISTORY: Akechi Jubei Mitsuhide was a general in the warring states period. He first served the Saito and later the Oda. Under the Oda he acted as a general and helped when many key battles for Nobunaga. However, he eventually betrayed Nobunaga and instead of fighting the Mori in Western Japan he turned his armies on Nobunaga's unguarded residence, slaying him. He declared himself Shogun but we killed three days later by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

FAMILY: (If you have faceclaims in mind please note them.)
• Katayama Haruhiro: 49: Masato's father. A kind man who runs a small bakery.
• Katayama Aika: 41: Masato's mother. A young woman who helps with his father's bakery.
• Katayama Shio: 9: Masato's little sister. A skinny girl with a bowl cut and kind smile.
• Katayama Ranta: 7: Masato's younger brother. a cute boy who seems to loves croissants.
BACKGROUND: Masato was born in the city of Gifu. His 30 year old father has fallen in love with a young, 20 year old woman who often came to the Masato family bakery. It didn't take long after the couple met for them to have their first child, getting married a short time after. Masato was a kind of reclusive child who kept to himself. In spite of having a bakery his parents didn't have much money so instead of fancy electronics he often just had old books left over from his mother's time in school. He made quite a few friends, but still preferred the company of books over others. This social abilities seemed more like a way to get out of situations as quickly as possible so he could return to his quiet life.
His schooling went fairly well and he always got good grades. At the age of 10 his younger sister was born, and his brother two years later. Due to the bakery not making enough for a family of five his father asked many foreigners for baking tips from their homeland. He thought if he could make foreign, exotic breads it would put his bakery above others. Fortunately it worked well and the family was able to barely support itself. Though that wouldn't be the only change that came to their lives. Around the age of 14 his father was given a gift from a rich local lord. The local lord was bragging about his place in the Toki clan and gave Masato's father a sword guard with a bell flower design. When Haruhiro gave Masato the guard to hold a strong pulse of energy came from it. A few days later the lord of the Toki clan and a group of metsuke showed up and made it clear that Masato's next stop would be Edo Bugei.
Masato's entrance into Edo Bugei was far from spectacular in many ways. His studies went alright but being in a fairly new atmosphere Masato's kind and extroverted personality didn't truly shine through. He quietly observed his first year and got use to life at the Bugei. Completing a simple mission of finding a missing student who had run away from school Masato moved on to second year status at a reasonable speed. As a second year Masato constantly found himself signing up for escort missions to and from the mainland. No particular reason per. say. Though he seemed to find comfort in the long sea voyages. They allowed him a lot of time to read and study alone while occasionally practicing new strategies and combat techniques against pirates and mainland bandits. In many ways Masato felt his studies happened more at sea and he learned most of his strategies for war on the Asian mainland. As he proved himself in missions between Japan and the mainland he was given third year status after a series of missions against a rather fierce group of Chinese bandits. As well as high praise from a nobleman on the mainland for his work.
Even in Edo Bugei Masato doesn't have much money. Most of the money he gets from the school's jobs, or from the Toki Clan are sent back to his parents in Gifu so his brother and sister can get a better education than his parents had been able to afford for him when he was young.
