Damn that Hiroshi. hell, damn Yoshio and Mitsuho and all the rest of the bastards. Bu sat in the back corner of the crowded club as droning music pumped throughout and flashing lights came from the crowd. The darkness here was a welcome change. She sipped the orange juice she'd gotten from the bar with barely hidden disgust. There was a significant lack of things for her to drink, the bastards had carded her despite her being surrounded by a bunch of legal guys. What a scam.

It was saturday night and the whole team had decided to go out to the club. It had been a productive day for the guys so they wanted to celebrate. Annoyingly, Bu was the only girl who was willing to join in on the fun. Azami had gone home to her kids and Sakei had claimed a headache. Bu knew she wasn't the party girl type anyway, probably didn't want to go somewhere where the drinks were flowing and you had to stay sober. Smart girl. Bu envied her decision making skills. Would have been nice to have some company though.

Honestly, most of the guys weren't that bad. They were weirdos and pervs but that's what you got when you went to the more niche side of work experience. They'd been lucky to get her and she knew it and they knew it. But it wasn't like she looked down on them, everyone had their niche. The only one she didn't like was Hiroshi who was the guy in charge. They'd clashed pretty quick too but she'd come out on top and now it seemed like he was trying to spite her, that is, whenever he could get away with not being close enough to hit. Coward.

Whatever, she thought she could handle it but somehow he managed to push her further than expected. Sure, she'd revealed the whole idol history to the gang, that was part of what got her the job. But Hiroshi must have figured out that she didn't want it getting out. She hadn't given him enough credit, it would seem. Bu had been mildly enjoying herself, hanging out with the guys, ignoring the dudes who came over to talk to chat her up. Maybe they thought she was with one of the gang, they certainly seemed ballsy enough to make a move with a girl surrounded by men. Not that the men in the group were especially good looking, or athletic, or of any note. Still, rude.

But Hiroshi had disappeared, lost somewhere in the crowd while they all were dancing. She hadn't an idea of where she went and she didn't care, at least, not until the music stopped and the DJ came on. The bastard had gotten to the DJ. She was outed, nobody called her out specifically but the words still stung. He announced that a former idol was in the club, said her old name, played one of her old songs. Bu couldn't take it. She broke away from the gang and took up perch here in the darkness.

How was she going to play this one the next day? Had the other guys seen she was upset? It was dark and the flashing lights on the dance floor were distracting. Maybe they hadn't. She stared down at her drink and was horrified to find several drops of water on the table around it. She was crying.

It was going to be fun?

Lots of people to see.

A girl should go out more.

Those were the promises the Honda princess was given to be taken out to as unlikely of a place as the second time of going into a brothel. The blonde Honda princess rubbed a few of her long hair strands enough to become a cord as she looked around the packed club with nothing but a draw string purse around her wrist and none of the people she recognized at the start of the evening. The dead look in her eyes kept a few men at their distance as she contemplated on her next course of action.

This all task started off from what few members of the strained home ec. club and their 'concerns'. The end of the Ikko war led to the absence of one pixi hair cut individual she would no longer consider her a friend after the upraising and fighting that took place at the school. Their lack of presence instead of following instructions to seek shelter in the underground training facility meant their body would turn up elsewhere. It was both surprising and hurtful to find that they were conspirators to the Ikko. More traitors to be surrounded by. The reminder made her boil enough to purchase the Ikko book of codes to study off of. The threat of becoming a shut in again was what prompted the club to drag the princess out from her room to interact with people again, however, this was but a ruse. The moment they got their help through the front door did Mika loose sight of them after holding a table for their drinks.

Needless to say, Mika took her time polishing off the glasses herself one by one when it was evident that they weren't coming back. She quietly plotted how to violently assault them for their insolence as the music changed genera to something of a questionable quality. It certainly came off stark than the other songs the club had on loop for awhile. A male's voice on the microphone said it was some stage name's piece. Mika hardly cared and could barely hear what the idol's name was at all from the mic pitch screaming a bit with the music playing. The Honda girl rubbed her ears in dismay of what a helpless creature they were to be unable to use a simple microphone and his crime on the club for being an obscenity.

It was then that out from the crowd of people did someone storm by. The club was dim with flashy lights striking the floor and people just being a mass of bodies so it was hard to get any idea what was their problem. Things that Mika was certain about was that they retreated to an area around her own table of solitude with a drink in hand to slam into. Mika tried to ignore the three empty glasses on her table when eyeing how they ran off to a near by table to huddle in the shadows. In dismay of how the evening has just bit a real peach of a time, Mika flicked a finger at the empty flute glasses by her and plucked the drink menu to read over on something on the mild side. "Wasted filth and people," she growled into the menu. Her mood soured enough to hold back her opinions any longer.

This was no way to behave, certainly not in public. Anyone could see her and the guys were probably bound to come around to find her at some point. It was a massive crowd of bodies at the floor but out by the tables it wasn't nearly as busy and her blonde hair was kind of a stark contrast to most of the colors around the scene. Still, try as she might, she wasn't really able to regain control of herself. She felt that itching in her palms again and she imagined that she could hear the scraping of rock against glass even though it wasn't making any sound at all.

She pulled several napkins from the dispenser on the table and wiped her hands, they came away smudged, she was definitely losing control. But what could she do? Barging through the club looking for Hiroshi was not a good move, beating him to death was bound to get some negative attention, she felt backed into a corner but without her classic response of attack attack attack, Bu was at a complete loss.

She pulled another napkin from the holder and wiped her eyes. She was still crying. Bu took another sip of her drink and took a slow deep breath. If she could calm down, control herself, maybe that would stop and she'd have some measure of self respect left over. At least the music had gone back to the more modern j-pop stuff. Which wasn't exactly a good thing since Bu had pretty negative opinions of them in general. But now she didn't even have coworkers and conversation to help her not notice them.

The night had turned into an absolute mess. She wiped her eyes with the napkin again and then wadded them all up into a ball and pushed them to one side of the table. She dropped her head back into her hands and tried to focus on breathing slowly. Back in school they talked about exercises to keep yourself calm and manage your breathing and shit like that, she was kind of wishing that she had paid a bit more attention to what the teacher had said right about now.

Bu stared into her glass. It was nearly empty. She sniffed and grabbed another napkin to wipe her nose. Sitting here, in the dark, surrounded by people and still alone, Bu wished she was back home. Not home in the school dorms, that wasn't home. No, she wished she was back in the mountains, surrounded by the Welsh Rabbits and the bikes. She didn't have to worry about any trouble with them. If they had a problem, they worked it out, fought a bit, had a drink together, everything was good after that. Here, here she was alone. There was nobody to step in and separate a fight, nobody to call you out for going too far. Nobody to defend you against some weak punk who had overstepped. Bu missed having a gang to rely on.

She waved down a waiter of some kind, assuming that's what he was based on his clothes and serving tray, and ordered a fruity blend before sending him on his way with the three other empty glasses at her table. Having those ugly reminders wasn't going to help so much for her mood. The man then lowered his head to whisper to her in motion of the other lady behind her. What other woman, was the quiet and pensive look Mika shot at him before turning to see who. Their corner remained dim and their blonde head kept down so it wasn't clear, besides them being in a poor mood as well, of who that person was. Mika sighed and pointed at the menu for some other fruity item with pineapple slices wedged into the rim for them to have as well and sent the man away once more.

Having ordered a new set of drinks was fine but Mika was more offended that he would cowardly ask her if she knew that person. The Honda princess knew little else of anyone in this club and would certainly disown the others and their dates with a wave of her hand and a hard slap across their faces. Only in her most foulest of moods would she show a regalia temper. Once content with how to deal with those other lowlifes did she now turn her brought attention to the being sulking. They were both blondes, whether that be by legitimate reasons on their part or not, so there wouldn't be much questioning as she left her lone table for the others.

Mika slipped away and walked to join the darkness of the club. Their hunched back and lowered head was rather depressing as they clutched their glass for security. She pulled up a stool to take a seat facing the club itself so they would seem further hidden with Mika being a divider before addressing them as if they too were abandoned by their own friends at the club like her. "Care to share a table? I have drinks coming if you would care to hold a fresh glass," she stated without realizing just yet how familiar she actually was with this particular blonde.

Mabe there was no winning in this situation. She'd been beaten, unfairly, underhandedly, but beated all the same and there was nothing she could do about it. Sometimes you had to lie down and take your licks as they came and hope that they'd end soon enough. But she didn't have to be around to suffer them, she could leave. Maybe she should let the guys know that she was heading home in person that way they wouldn't worry, if any of them were sober enough to worry.

That'd be the responsible thing to do instead of just disappearing, not that she wanted to see them at all right now especially if he was hanging around with them, waiting to see her show up with that smug look on his smug face. She'd just go. That's what she had decided on, at least. Actually standing up and doing it was a whole different story. However, her mental gathering of courage was interrupted by somebody coming to sit at her table.

She looked up to see a girl which was a slightly better prospect than if it had been some random guy. She probably would have hit him. That didn't mean she was entirely ok being approached by a stranger in any case. Though it was a bit strange seeing somebody else with blonde hair, Bu vaguely wondered if the girl bleached it too.

She grabbed a napkin and wiped her eyes before dropping the whole wad into her empty glass and pushing it off to one side. "Ah guess, no law against it." She muttered. Why had she come over here, did they know each other? Bu was pretty sure she would remember if any of her friends had hair like that. Maybe she was one of the people who auditioned for the job. Bu had the sneaking suspicion that she ought to know but she was in no mood to dig around and figure it out politely. "Have we met or something?"

Two blondes huddled in the corner with various aspects of dejection in their mood while trying to save face in some manner. Now that Mika was closer to this person did she see the use of the napkin taken up to dab their eyes a bit. Crying here over some boyfriend? Mika assumed as no matter of her being from a high family or just a commoner person; who wouldn't think of that question first when seeing a girl cry? However, she lacked any boyfriend advice on the topic of love and would rather assist in wifi connections or clothing material assessments instead.

After spying those tears did Mika resumed her search for that waiter and their drinks. The girl would bring ire upon them if they were to delay her order over some trivial flirt after paying so much thus far. Once that accent reached her ears did thoughts ended abruptly. That's just not possible, Mika reflexively denied it. The initial expression as she looked at the girl gave hint to that feeling. It was how they spoke was Mika sure but then wanted to deny it for how out of place it seemed. "Hard to say for certain," the girl attempted to cover it up but it may be too late. Right now she had a hard time figuring out why that reckless biker is here in a club at all in a corner all sulky and crying. "But, if permitted, I would rather prefer your company over those that left me with the bill."

Bu shrugged in a defeated way. She didn't really have the emotional wherewithal to accept or deny a bit of company at the moment. "Weird, you look familiar." She sighed and looked at her hands. "Guess Ah'm just confused or something. You just remind me of somebody Ah've seen before. Just one of those faces maybe." She looked out toward the dance floor. "Sounds like your group has a few assholes in it too."

Bu didn't see any of her people yet, well, hanging out here at the table with a stranger was just prolonging the time before either they came looking for her or she had to go look for them to say she was leaving. "Why're you out tonight if your friends just wanted to bail and leave you with the tab at the table? Ah was out for a bit of social after work drinks and shit" then she added, under her breath, "like a corporate cubicle drone."

Bu leaned back in her chair and turned her gaze back to the other blonde. "But my boss is an asshole so here Ah am." What a wasted night. Well, she'd basically asked for it by trying to act like a proper adult with a job. Who was she fooling, she belonged on the streets, less in the bar and more in the alley behind it, thumbing her nose at the bouncer.

Mika sighed, avoiding how to explain that mess of a mission was where they met for now and nodded. The drinks she ordered arrived for the tei of them and the waister left them be. She took the glass with her slender hands and took a cold drink for dodging that bullet. “They said it was unhealthy to stay in my room and offered this establishment.” The reasoning was there and how easily it fell through. Another shred of hope for people to speak with gone down the drain. May as well quit another school club thanks to this. Her eyes looked over the brim of her glass to Bu’s for all their job talk.

“What sort of work has a student do?” Mika wondered as Bu worded it like a job. Not a mission but an actual job. Well, if one could take some prospect in the Ikko invasion, people were lacking for jobs and hurting for employees. The thought was dark due to the circumstances of there being a raise of employment but t is what it is. Given Bu’s attitude did Mika had to see the flaw in that. “Why not find another line of work and warn trust in that? It may be a good keystone to have after what befell Edo.”

"Not much better than my room." Bu said, looking around again. "Dark, loud music, people everywhere making noise, difference is that staying home would have been a lot cheaper." Oh well, team building and social interaction were supposed to be good for the soul, she just wished that had been actually true instead of just an easy way to lure her along. Oh who was she kidding, she had wanted to do this. It was just one idiot spoiling her night. Bu picked up the drink the other girl had gotten for her drink, she just needed some thicker skin, so to speak.

"Other work would probably mean doing actual work." It was a revealing reply in several ways. "Ah got lucky and scored a job with people who are willing to work with my school schedule, don't ask too much of me, and consider my old work a plus, four years old or not." Wasn't likely she'd ever get something like this again, it really was a perfect match, well, almost perfect. They were desperate for a name and she wanted cash for a bike. It all worked out, even if she had to reveal a little more of herself than she liked.

"Mostly they've got me doing lines, voice stuff. Ah'm one of three girls they have reading for some independent project thing." Bu shrugged and took a sip of the drink. "Some weird kind of game. But hey, Ah get paid and they get my voice and name if they want it. Pretty good deal, doncha know." Knowing the manager, her old name was going to definitely going to be all over this thing. Hopefully there wouldn't be any trouble for the other two women. She liked them well enough.

Mika held off on her drink and only took smaller sips while listening to her explain what this job was and more perplexed on how they couldn’t find one even with their profession of...brutality. The one mission gave that much of an impression on her but generally Mika held more disgust for the Ghost Rider than her partner. Still, giving nothing else, the girl listened to what this profession was.

She judged it to be something more violent or for racing. Racing is a form of gambling for money afterall. But the terms for voice work and a game, well, that was different. “I suppose the business was hurt just as many. Personally I don’t own a device for that besides my cellphone. What sort of game was this to request a fair pay?” It sounded like a fair question since Mika had little to share on her part, holding the cards close.

There was the odds that she may not know the game all that much at all. Pretty common to get paid for the voice work and never actually sit down to play it. What else is there to ask? Mika thought this over but mostly kept coming back to this corner situation.

“There someone you are waiting for here?”

Bu swirled the liquid around in her glass and stared at it. "Hurt? No, Ah don't think so. They're just a bunch of guys who pulled together some talent and are just making some independent thing, but Ah guess at some point you need voices so here Ah am." She shrugged, "Ah don't really get it, doncha know." She hadn't had much experience with such things but maybe she should be taking more of an interest in her own work.

Bu took another sip of her drink and looked out toward the dance floor again. "Ah guess it's like for computers or something. The main guy goes around town and falls in love with the characters or they fall in love with him or something and then he fucks them." She shrugged again. "Probably. Don't really know how the game works but it's got a lot of stuff that changes so Ah have to do a lot of lines." But talking was easier than work, especially if it paid enough to get her a bike.

"What do you mean?" Bu asked, not entirely sure, did she look like she was waiting for somebody? She was at a table alone but she'd been crying, obviously not hiding it well. That was hardly the behavior of an expectant. "Ah just came out with the guys who are making the game to relax and let loose a bit. But my boss is an asshole." she huffed and took a big drink.

The more she heard about the game did Mika wonder just what was Bu talking about more. The game itself or just issues with coworkers and bosses. If they didn’t say it was fair pay earlier then it sounded more like work harassment. Rather, it may as well be as Mika tried to follow the oddly contextual words Bu but if needed to condense it all; work was just bad and not worth the payment choice. Some game about getting laid quickly made her not want to play such a thing when it’s their voice in it makingnlewd things for all she knew. “The more you speak of this occupation, the less believable it is to be here at all or with those people,” Mika spoke after gathering what she could to reach that conclusion. The very fact that this person sitting across from her was the same biker on the mission left her wondering if the mission did something to them by some sort of mental wound.

“Excuse what I am about to further say but which person are you?” Mika now asked to be sure if this was the same person. Keeping herself quiet wasn’t going to make the evening any salvageable. “You weren’t like this when investigating the Ghost Rider.” On the off chance that this person is someone else that looks like them, at least getting this cleared up would ease Mika’s mind a bit.

Bu shrugged again. She had decided to come here with them, she'd wanted to hang out, feel like part of the team. Maybe prove to the guys that she wasn't acting better than them or maybe that show that she wasn't worse than them. It was hard to tell sometimes. Maybe, at the heart of it all, she was looking for a new gang to feel a part of. But the reminder of the ghost rider caught her off guard. That was it, that was why the girl looked familiar. Bu grinned.

"Oh hey, yeah, you're uh..." Bu snapped her fingers trying to remember the girl's name. "Honda something or other. Sorry, but that was like almost a year ago, doncha know. You said we didn't know each other." Her grin kind of faded as she slumped back down in her chair. "Course, I wouldn't admit to knowing me right now either." She hung her head and breathed out through her lips.

She stared at her glass again and began to trace her finger along the top. "That was fun. Ah miss riding at night, seeing the city lit up by neon glow. Maybe when Ah finally get paid Ah can buy a proper bike." That was the main goal, after all. She needed a pretty significant amount for the custom piece she had been planning out. "Probably the most fun Ah'd had in town, even if the boss of that job turned out to be an ass too. Maybe Ah'm just cursed with bad luck."

You left an impression for a year ago, is why, Mika’s face shared her annoyance of that mission which made her remember someone that reckless. The other girl was right in getting her memory jogged but didn’t warrant any sympathy. This Bu before her acted differently from back then abd yet still had the neeve to day dream over a bike.

“Then what have you been doing? Wasting time with a filthy job when the school could make higher pay for your talents,” Mika argued with little concern for whatever Bu was intending on this job. “Also, address me as Mikazuki or Mika. The weight behind a Honda need only appropriate circumstances till that too is no longer.” Meaning there was no merit to use the name. Not till Mika can fully throw the attachment away for good and until then, it would be a weapon to accompany enemies worth breaking. Bu’s coworkers or boss seemed to come to mind to club repeatedly like tgat flawed mentsuke.

She drank slowly with Bu remissing this do called bad luck of hers. Mika couldn’t fully grasp the work environment Bu placed herself in but tried to compare it that to a damily nan working. They go to work to do wgat they must for the company or themselves while forgoing family when times are good then return to them when things are bad due to granted leave. “Your work might have some worth if choosing to stay with it this long no matter their evaluation of worth.”

Apparently this girl considered their time on the mission enough to give her some weird authority to act like Bu’s mom. Bikes were a bonding experience, sure, but that was a kinship that didn’t extend to motherhood. Even finding a dead body and mouthing off to the cops didn’t quite go that far. Sisters maybe if she’d come to visit in the hospital. But nobody bothered to do that. Best she’d gotten was a call from her sponsor and a text from her mother back home. Her old gang hadn’t even made the trip down to see her. Bu stared into her cup, feeling miserable again.

“What, higher pay like finding lost pets or construction work? That pay is shit and not guaranteed. Like Ah’d sell out for that little money. Air are you talking about the big stuff that shows up super rarely and always ends up being hijacked or led by metsuke. Ain’t gonna debase myself in the scum by working with them.” Bu didn’t put much stock into names but if Mika didn’t want to be called Honda, then whatever. Honda had just been the only part of it she could remember. Honda being very memorable to her for obvious reasons.

“Ah’ve Only been at the job for two weeks. Even if people like you call it filthy, it’s a job that pays me properly. Ah can do it while in school.” She started counting off the benefits on her fingers. “Ah don’t have to worry about ending up back in the hospital for a fifth time since coming to this place, And it makes use of my talents way more than the school does.” She held up four fingers. That seemed like a bad omen, she needed a fifth. “And most of the people there like me.” Boss notwithstanding.

“At school, only job they got for my so called talents was that ghost rider thing. School doesn’t need motorcycles, it needs little cops do go off and sort out people with nothing more villainous on their mind than having a good time. Well Ah’m not interested in being their fun police. Ah can perform a bit and that’s what this voice acting job wants me to do. Ah enjoy it. You can turn your nose up at it as much as you like but somebody was going to do it, why not me?”
