Imaizumi, Koi No Clan

• Male 16
• Izu City, Izu Province
• First Year
• Political Track
• Blacksmith Club
• Hobby: Making art with metal.
APPEARANCE

HAIR: Brown, short and loosely styled.
EYES: Silver-blue mixture (Hemochromatosis)
HEIGHT: 6'0"
BODY TYPE: Skinny and spindly looking, slightly fit. Skin is a silvery grey due to his extreme Hemochromatosis. Also slightly heavier than one would expect him to be due to the weight of the iron boosting his weight by a few pounds.
STYLE: On his off days he wears a Victorian era outfit. This consists of a white undershirt coupled with a black, brown, or dark blue vest that usually sports a reasonable pattern on it such as gold swirls or clan markings. He also wears a tie to match whatever outer jacket he is wearing on that particular day, ranging from dark blue and brown, to a simple black one. He prefers to wear no jacket on summer days, and a long cotton trench coat type jacket on cold, raining, or snowing days. Matching pants and leather shoes finish off his base clothing appearance. Additionally, depending on the event, he can be seen in a bowler hat, or short top hat as well. He also carries a cane with him to help with the arthritis in his knees and hips. It is a simple yet elegant cane with an ergonomic shape to help ease his arthritis in his hands. The handle is made of iron, and the rest made of ironwood.
OTHER: Silvery skin and eyes due to hemochromatosis. When cut his blood also shines a silvery-red due to the same condition.
TRAITS

Very outspoken about any problems he has with others, causes fights quite often due to his plain and open way of speaking. Otherwise he is a well spoken gentleman. He personally has quite a bit of money, allowing him to buy things that he requires or desires easily. Suffers from a unique case of Hemochromatosis, a high level of iron in the blood. It is the highest recorded amount in a human, possibly due to the magnetic abilities of his relic, which has caused his blood to retain amazingly high levels of iron at any given time.

STRENGTHS: Extremely adept at using relic powers (swift manipulations, doesn't tire easily while using abilities), Can keep a solid footing in unstable terrain. Can identify metals very easily.
WEAKNESSES: Physically weak, below average aim with firearms, arthritis in his joints (Hemochromatosis)
LIKES: Loves metal, art,, magnetism, classical Europian music, nicely dressed and polite people.
DISLIKES: Impoliteness, rude people, Tokugawa Shogunate (Due to government plans to annex precious metal mines, gem mines, and other resource mines).
AMBITIONS: Determined to prevent government takeover of private mines.
COMBAT

WEAPON: Six ornate Philadelphia Derringer pistols. They are one shot percussion cap guns. They are gold and silver plated and held in a harness under his overcoat and above his vest. 3 on one side, 3 on the other, designed to be cross drawn (Left guns drawn by right hand, vice versa). Due to the percussion cap, these guns are not re-loadable in thread, and are a last resort weapon.
RELIC: Cane made of Iron and ironwood.
RELIC OWNER: Katō Danzō
OWNER HISTORY: A prominent ninja master who's history is surrounded by mystery. He was rumored to have been trained in sorcery and was supposedly able to fly. (Thus the nickname Flying Kato). He was tasked by Usegi, Kenshin with stealing a sword from a retainer of Kenshin's, and not only stole the sword, but also captured a servant girl as well. After a series of events, Kenshin and his rival Takeda, Shingen eventually thought he was acting as a double agent. He was captured and beheaded.
ACTIVATED ABILITY 1: (1 Turn CD) River of Steel - Pulls 1 cubic foot of metal filings from any local source within his range. Metal filings must be magnetic material and must not come form a weapon or projectile that is still in opponent control, and may never come from an opponent's relic.
ACTIVATED ABILITY 2: (3 Turn CD) Icy Hot Metal - Can heat up or cool down metal that is under his magnetic control. The metal becomes red hot or cold enough to cause mild frostbite for 2 posts. Enemy armor, and weapons that are in enemy possession are invalid targets for this ability. Already launched projectiles are valid within reason. Relics are never a valid target.
LOCKED ACTIVATED ABILITY 3: (5 Turn CD) No Medic Required - Able to use the iron in his blood to create a patch to stop even the most traumatic bleeding. Likewise can use the iron in another person's blood to stop their bleeding (must be able to touch them). This patch stays even after the ability is finished, and patches must be removed manually, else they stay in place.
PASSIVE 1: Magnetic Personality - Possess an extremely strong magnetic field around him. Can manipulate any naturally magnetic object around him, up to 10 feet away. The weight and density of the object effects the ability to manipulate it, meaning he can't float, bend, or move around a 400 pound object with as much ease or as swift as a soda can. Enemy Relics, armor, and weapons are an invalid targets for this ability. Already launched projectiles are valid.
LOCKED PASSIVE 2: Metal Manipulation - Can solidify metal (including liquid metals and metal filings (particles)) into various weapons and shapes. Likewise any material solidified in this way can be turned back into it's original source material.
LOCKED AWAKENED MODE COLOR: Silver
LOCKED
AWAKENED ATTACK: Iron Maiden - Magnetic field increases in power and range. All sources of iron within 100 feet (in the ground, buildings, dead bodies, etc) of Koi immediately begin shedding filings and rocket towards him. They form into a large ocean of metal sand underneath him and spread out in a circle around him that is as deep as 5 inches and as far as 25 feet from him (50 feet from edge to edge). The more sources available, the larger the radius (Up to 50 feet from him, or 100 feet edge to edge, and as deep as 7 inches). Anyone except himself and allies within the circle are then targeted by a 'living sand' that tries to spear them with spikes that solidify out of the sand around opponents. if a spike manages to wound an opponent, it wraps around enemies and attempts to completely cover them in a metal coffin (lasts 3 turns from creation of the coffin). Expanded magnetic influence lasts up to 2 turns. Magnetic control of all filings in the remainder of the attack lasts 5 turns. Total turn count: 5
HISTORY

FAMILY: (If you have faceclaims in mind please note them.)
• Imaizumi, Amur (Father, Mine retainer for Matsuda Clan)
• Imaizumi, Iwame (Mother, Accountant for retainer company. Direct employ of the Matsuda clan)

BACKGROUND: Koi grew up in the mines of the Matsuda clan, though is not part of their clan. He was born to a family who owned several mines on behalf of the Matsuda clan, and were considered almost like family to the Matsuda. His mother was a slim woman of average looks, and black hair, while his father was a well built and masculine figure of authority with a body seemingly cast of iron. They mined everything from precious gems to coal across the province, and even though the Matsuda clan got the primary amount of money that was generated by the mines, his family was quite well off, enough to buy jewelry, nice clothing, and other wealthy family doo-dads and knick-knacks, weapons, and anything else he may desire.

While growing up, he was known for exploring the various caves and mines around his city. Those who saw him swiftly and easily making his way through piles of rubble and unstable grounds would describe it 'as if he were swimming through the mountain', along with his name, Koi, he became known quickly as the Iron Fish by miners in the area, and soon by his family. He soon fell ill, and had to slow down just a bit, exploring just as swiftly, though in smaller bursts.

As he grew older, his skin turned a silvery color, and a Matsuda doctor finally diagnosed him with Hemochromatitis, an overabundance of iron in his blood. Small metal flecks began to stick to him, seemingly by magnetic means as his relic powers awakened. He was shortly after floating soda cans, forks, and other pieces of metal around him with ease, also finding that with some focus he could bend them and change their shapes into interesting works art. He boiled down several sets of forks, which his mother scolded him for, and used his powers to move the softened metal around and mold it into a sculpture, crude as it was.

Around 6 months later, his powers were well under control, effortlessly creating works of art, weapons, anything he wanted really. This gained the attention of the Bugei Academy, who extended a (mandatory) welcome to him and soon took him from his family and mines that he loved so much. He continued to make things with his metal editing abilities while waiting for his first year to begin, and one day in the blacksmithing club's area, he overheard a conversation that the Shogunate was planning on taking private mines away from people to use for their own financial gain, this set him on his political track, taking an active stance that mines will remain in the family's hands. So begins his first year.

Kitsu

Well, you said you wanted me to go over and point out all the issues I had with your profile so here goes mate.

1. Strengths and weaknesses need to be the same number.

2. Please explain in history how you got six foreign guns.

3. Activate 1s are quick, short spells. that is why they have only a one turn cooldown. So no.

4. Act 3. So you are stripping iron from their blood and focusing it all in one place? wouldn't that kill them?

5. Passive 1, 15 feet is pretty large range for that.

6. Your awakened lasts a really long time. That would shred your body to pieces. Awakening are 2-3 turns and then you pass out.

7. Please describe your family members more. You just have two names. That says nothing.

Groovy concept though.

1. He has 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses. The ()'s are describing the strength or weakness.

2. Placed information about his considerable wealth in his traits. Previously was only in paragraph one of his background.

3. Activated one now pulls from local sources instead of producing it.

4. It is to be understood that this would be used in the event of someone possibly bleeding to death, and would require hospitalization soon anyway. The side effect of temporary low iron in the blood would be the inabilty to create new red blood cells efficiently, but the trade off is immediate stopping of blood loss.

5. Passive 1 is now 10 feet.

6. New ultimate that acts quicker and will only last up to 3 posts.

7. Expanded on the familiy member roles in the Retainer company as well as labeled mother and father (which I somehow missed)

1. just move the metal in your blood from a strength to traits.

2. In your history it would have been less of a warm invite and more like monks showing up shortly after you awakened and going "you need to come to edo, under orders from the Shogunate".

3. Your history doesn't really make it clear about how much time passed since when you awakened to when you got your invite to Edo Bugei.

4. Please add cooldown times to your powers.

5. I still feel like the passive 1 is far too OP. We are talking about 400 pounds of melal easily around you. That means lugging 400 pounds of metal at someone like its not a big deal.

6. What do your parents look like?

7. Your awakened says where it draws metal from but not how large the circle it creates is. Also, the coffins can't stay in place after your awakened ends. They would have to melt away.

8. In your awakened your meant "rounds" not "posts."

The profile is getting better though, and I am liking the powers.

1. Moved this information to traits as well, expanding on the appearance changes caused by his condition.

2. I was building his background while in his mindset, so he saw the letter as a warm invite to be something greater. More of an IC opinion than what actually happened. Edited slightly to clarify that it wasn't his choice to go or not.

3. 6 month time frame added at the beginning of the last paragraph.

4. Cool down times added.

5. This will be a complex issue that probably needs some discussion, but the way his magnetic field manipulation works as it currently is, he can manipulate things very easily that are small and lightweight such as metal filings. Sure he can float around 400 pounds of metal around him like nothing but it's made of multiple very small parts. If he were to fling them at someone, it would be like getting hit with sand. Sure it would hurt and be abrasive, and maybe knock them over, but it would not be able to do the damage of a solid mass, more like being hit by a particularly strong ocean wave. Out of his magnetic range, it would fall apart immediately as well. There would be a lot of give in it.

When solidified, he would be manipulating large objects MUCH slower due to the amount of force being needed to do so. Think Yoda when he uses the force. Small solid objects can be used to cause damage by flinging them at high velocities, but large heavy objects need concentration and time to slow down, move, etc. I leave it to you to decide on this now, and whatever you decide, I will honor.

6. Not sure if it matters what they look like considering that they don't need a standardized appearance until necessary, but added a small description.

7. Added maximum and minimum size and depth of the attack radius. Also added a turn limit to the 100 foot range to two turns, as well as a maximum attack time of 5 turns. Coffins will last 3 turns from their creation, to be fair, they don't crush or damage in any way. The spikes spear them and then they are covered up for 3 turns to delay medics from treating them or allies from retrieving them immediately.

8. Put in as turns.

The powers will need some conscious effort to keep them in line but I'm going to be using them like 'force powers' but with only metal, and never able to effect a weapon or projectile that is currently in possession of an enemy, and never a relic. Fired projectiles are fair game, though bullets would be near impossible. More thinking arrows and such.
