Fully dressed in her icy attire, that was somewhat a cross between a formal Chinese dress and a western evening gown, and heading into the opposite direction of Bugei's dance did the single Honda wandered without escort into Southern Edo. It's several hours before the dance and the sun is just starting to set but Mika was already dressed for the dance but there was a slight alteration of plans based off of Sakuma's input. Humored a little by this since their encounter was the offer accepted when it would otherwise be declined.

She waked down the street gaining off looks by her rather fancy attire. Most words spoken in some Dutch or Portuguese about the rich clothes to some foreigner like themselves playing dress up. Mika didn't understand their language but their eyes and self mutterings between their workers gave that impression. She stared ahead to throw their words behind her in reaching the bar sooner.

Business felt slow or maybe it was always like this when Mika opened the door. The scent of alcohol hung in the air and hints of cigar smoke. Thoughts of that Sakuma smoking away in some corner in that bright cherry red jacket seemed befitting of his character. So far in her field of view had she not encounter him yet. Not familiar on where to proceed further beyond the area designed for customers, Mika held her white baby blue clutch purse and approached the bar master for information. "Is there a Sakuma in?" Mika asked to keep the tone formal than a child asking if their playmate was home. She came to skeptically see what made Sakuma so excited in these old movies he spoke of.

The old man looked at her, then at the empty booths behind her. Noticing they where still empty he motioned with his hands for her to wait a second before walking to the edge of the bar and opening the small half door at its edge to let himself out. There was a staircase to the left most side of the bar that led to its second story, laying on the hand rail was a old broom, the old man grabbed it and lifted it above his head hitting the ceiling a few times before sounds of rustling could be heard. "Ill be down in a mintue, this fucking tv is heavy!" Eiji yelled down in response. The sounds above got closer as a large twack could be heard on the floor above. These contined as Eiji came down dragging a large blocky tv down the stairs. It was about forty inches and close to one hundred pounds. The old man walked over to the door and grabbed his coat before speaking up."Made some more tea for ya little lady, its in the back though, when he gets down here tell him to make himself useful and fetch it for you." He said as he flipped the open sign to closed and made his exit. Not long after Eiji appeared at the bottom of the stair case cigarette in mouth dragging a tv that looked like it has seen some heavy use. "Hey mika..." he said as he looked at her, she looked like she was cut out of a fairy tale book, well she was a princess after all, what else was to be expected.
She looked wayy to good to be dressed for just a movie. "Yeah uh so this is it. The movies i brought are still up stairs but i gotta set up the tv first." He said. Thank god he wore these sunglasses. He just couldnt take his eyes off of her. "Getting all dressed up for me? You shouldnt have." He teased as he dragged the tv over to the bar, moving some of the stools then lifting the mammoth of a television up onto the bar. He turned back to her, not really knowing what to say. It was then he remembered he had a cigarette in his mouth he turned away and snuffed it out with his fingers taking it out of his mouth and putting it in his pocket. He turned back around and apologized. "Sorry bout the smell" He said looking slightly embarrassed

The man looked to somehow expect her arrival. He didn't say anything largely different or have an immediate answer. Rather he motioned for her to wait and came out from behind the bar counter. As the older gentleman did this did she follow him down to half of the bar counter's length to look into the booths. Mika's hands kept a hold of her purse than dare go touching anything she wasn't invited to. Mostly out of politeness and mainly out of learned restraint since childhood. Sakuma didn't appear to be laying in these even with an misplaced magazine laying out in the open away from the collection of books and reading materials. Loud swearing and a scuffle upstairs made her turn away before reading the spines of the books to walk toward the base of a set of stairs that curled upwards to another floor. Mika's head craned up with a quizzical brow raised on there being a room upstairs. Her answer came with a large black box carried down the stairs. Lightly in three steps did Mika back away to avoid possible dangers of the box colliding with her.

The bar master continued to be unphased by the swearing and loud commotions as he gathered up his coat and hat. "I shall accept the offer. Apologies to have you kindly make such preparations. Your efforts shall not be wasted," she accepted graciously to have tea ready. Mika didn't make an attempt to question where was he going as Sakuma's invitation may have intended for the older gentleman's departure in order to use the store. Sakuma never specially intended the two were going to a movie theater after all. He, the bar master, soon left leaving just the two alone in the store. Mika turned to the cigarette smoking, television heaving, Sakuma and nodding briefly in greeting while holding her small purse together with both hands before her. "Sakuma-san." His casual greeting set the mood right away to tone back the heavy use of formalities.

Now that the tv was brought downstairs which meant the upstairs could be a bedroom or storage facility. "Is that so," her goldenrod eyes looked to the tv in his arms curiously but also as his own person who literally towered over her by a whole foot of extra height. The girl was unawares of what he thought or saw thanks to those sunglasses masking his eyes. That is until his teasing tone made her lightly scoff in return for his playful tone. "I requested for something light and western and this is what they could provide. Also, my offer and yours happen to fall on the same evening." Mika explained thought logic to avoid having to dress herself twice in one night. Mika unwittingly didn't consider the possibility Eiji would like her attire. Her thoughts on clothes were just nice pleasant things that looked good and her body as a model for them. Why else would people comment about the clothes so much?

He set the tv down on the counter and pulled up two stools from the bar as their seats. Crude but it will do, was the placid look on her face as Mika walked up to him up to climb up in the stool. Sitting in this did Mika only reach about his chest height thanks to his insane height advantage. Eiji snuffed out the cigar apologetically. This humored her as she sat perched like an idly cat. Without batting an eyelash, Mika took a fan from her purse and opened it with the flick of her wrist depicting a grey ocean with silver waves upon it. She used this to fan some clean air for the both of them. "Let's make peace of the matter over the tea," she offered as a trade off and putting the Master's words to good use. "I'm curious on if this device even works for all your laboring."

"Tea? Oh yeah" Eiji said as he hopped over the bar. Under the bar squarely in the middle was a small refrigerator with a tea pot in it with a small sticky note that read, Jasmine tea, Reheat it on stove. Eiji took it and walked to his left towards the stairs. There was a nook where the larger refrigerator along with some cabinets and the stove. Eiji put the metallic pot on the stove and set it on. "Oh the tv works, i use it all the time." He said as he walked back up the stairs, this time coming down with a big cardboard box, filled to the brim with VHS tapes, and ontop of those a really worn down VHS player. Scratches where visible on the deck and the buttons no longer had symbols to show what they did as they whers long worn off. He set the box on the bar near mika, He then cast a glance to her on the stool. He then walked behind her to pull the table from the booth, pushing it towards the door, he then rotated the booth seat to face the tv. He looked back at her as he slapped his hand on the leather booth seat.
"That might be more comfortable than a bar stool" He said as he walked back over to the stove pulling the pot from the heated coil and putting it onto the counter. He put his hand against the metal and pulled it away as he felt the heat. Whipping his hand in the air to offset the mild burning sensation he grabbed a tea cup and a small plate, pouring the tea into the cup and setting the cup onto the plate. He walked over to her and gave it to her. "Its hot, so be careful. And gramps left a note on it labeling it as Jasmine tea, personally all of the leaf water tastes the same to me but if he made it ahead of time it must be good." Eiji said as he grabbed the tape player and proceeded to hop back behind the bar and began to hook up the tv and VHS player. From behind the bar Eiji asked,
"So what made you want to attend this evenings school event? I heard it might be a doozy"

The flurry of effort to see Eiji go through entertained her behind the fan. He really was serious after all, she surmised while staying put on the stool. Eiji went over counter tops, behind the bar, up the stairs and down again as a busy worker that it was a shame he actively didn't work at this bar instead of tending to the bottles. The scent of tea boiling mixed in with the thinned smoke as she took the time to look over the VHS covers on titles. None of which she ever recognized and even a smaller grasp on what the covers did say without some Japanese titles put over them. "Your collection is impressive," Mika felt to praise his efforts by the sheer number of tapes that filled the box. Not a singular movie pre-planned or anything like that.

"That might be more comfortable than a bar stool," he motioned her to the booth he pulled from the wall to take up the door area. Mika looked to the sign on the door and the open area. It did fit the needs of having space with more cushions than a stool. Since it is Eiji that's going out of his way for all this, she nodded and closed her fan before sliding off her stool and tucking it under the bar before taking a seat in the booth. The cushions felt worn but hardly broken in with ample support provided. With just Mika on the booth it would be large enough to be a mock futon bed. She tucked her fan away in her purse and accepted the tea given.

"There is no passion for tea but the art. Many may be water but when done correctly, there is a craftsmanship," Mika explained as she set her purse on a nearby table to hold the tea with care. It was honestly very hot to hold so she kept rotating it a little to stay off burns on her fingers. Mika savored the scent of the tea as is till ready to drink. When hearing Eiji's voice again, Mika sat with her legs slightly tucked under her in the booth as he worked on getting up the tv. He asked about attending the dance and why go to it at all which was reasonable enough. Mika didn't intend to go at first. "Going would have been inevitable. The family name would tempt a few just to go in the same presence despite current relations. It seems not many learned well either. Be easier to avoid those aspects by claiming to have someone else in mind."

Having said this, Mika craned her head to the spot Eiji worked behind. "What of yourself? The dance won't be very eventful yet you accepted the offer to attend as well as present this exchange. A movie night is most unexpected."

"Thanks, most of those i had to import through a guy i know, he is the one who subtitles them for me." He said proudly as he fiddled with the back of the tv, plugging plugs and such. He came back from behind the bar to run his finger over a button on the bottom right corner. It reared to life as the blue light filled the room. Eiji nodded his head as Mika explained why she was attending the dance.
"I see" He said, but in reality he didnt really get it at all. He wasnt going to admit to that though. "And im going becuase you are going,if i where obligated to go somewhere id want someone there with me yknow, misery loves company. Plus with all the hot heads around here there might be a fight cant miss that." He said as he walked over to the box and picked three movies from it and brought them over to Mika. "All right, ima let you choose tonight's feature length film. The first he held up had a cover of a neon baked man with a dark city in the backround.
"This one is called The casket courier. Its set in the far future where our main protagonist has to hunt down androids that pretend to be people. Good bit of sci fi and action in it. Eiji put it down and picked up the second one. Its case depicted a man carrying a rifle dressed for cold weather with an artic base behind it. "This one is The creature. Its a horror flick revolving around a group of scientists in a base in Antarctica. But when an alien that lands on earth via meteorite that has the ability to mimic people, it makes them question just how well they can trust eachother. Eiji put that one down and held up the last one. Its case was just black and white depiction of a man standing in a suit. "This one is The world is yours. A crime story on how a cuban immigrant becomes a millionaire through the sale of drugs." He said. "Ive already seen all of these hundereds of times so i dont care what we watch." He said with a smile

“Suppose we are but miserable people,” Mika frowned and tested some of her it. It burned her tongue a bit but she drank it all the same; one sip at a time. So Eiji joined to fufill the request and hope for a fight out of it that scrapper. “You’re tempting fate,” she warned but he wouldn’t need any of that. She set her tea by her purse as the room was filled in a blue light. The tv looked a little imposing in a way of just being an empty blue box. Three movies were presented to her selection with each rather different than the last. One set in the future, a thriller of sorts, and some story of an immigrant making it in the world.

“Hmm,” she kept note of the ones he offered yet their covers didn’t call out to her. Their premise even disturbed her a little of the situations the characters were put in by summary. Without wasting much of Eiji’s time did she select The Creature. “This one,” she spoke decidedly. The movie was explained as the break down of trust and suspicions. Having very little trust in others save for grains of sand in a few, Mika thought this movie would have the least resonance with her.

“Would these three happen to be your favorites?” She asked to learn what made him pick those three. None of them seemed very heroic. Mika shifted herself a little on the booth for Eiji to join even though the girl hardly took up much space. She returned to her tea to tend with till the movie began.

"Pffttt. Ive been tempting fate ever since i was born." Eiji said in response. Mika ended up choosing the creature, "excellent choice." Eiji said as he put the others back into the box. He pulled the tape from its crisp cardboard sleeve and put it into his VCR. He walked over and plopped himself next to Mika, putting his feet on the table as he grabbed the remote from the top the box of tapes.
"All of em are my favorite, might sound like a cop out, but i dont buy bad movies and watch em." He said as he hit the play button, he then immediately after he hit the pause button, hopping up. "Hold up a sec." He said as he slid over the bar once more. The sounds of bottles and glasses clinked as he rose up glass and ice in hand. He combined the two then grabbed three bottles off of the shelf.
"Making a cocktail." He said as he proceeded to mix drambuine, whiskey, and a bottle of lemon juice. He mixed them together into his glass and returned to his seat with his compatriot. He pressed play on the remote again as he glaced over to mika.
"Isnt hard to move in a get up like that?"

"Aren't you a devil," she spoke into her tea before finishing it and setting it aside feeling refreshed to relax for this portion of the evening. Having no one bothering her and in a fairly secluded place made for a peaceful attempt to start this odd festivity less agitated than before. She closed her eyes and sat still as if taking a short nap as Eiji delivered his cop out. Indeed it was an utter cop out to claim to enjoy everything in his collection. "Each one must be memorable then," she answered. The seat and herself bounced a bit as he flopped himself down a moment. It was a quick moment as he quickly got back up again for the bar.

Mika watched him leave the booth but it was obvious where he was going once the bottles started clinking. "Is that a requirement?" She inquired for his need to have a drink or if this was some ritual for his movie viewing. Sure he was an alcoholic but he was drowning himself in it thanks to the problems of his clan when meeting the first time so what of now? Mika wondered what sort of Eiji is he when not using that to burn and murder his liver. Speaking of, her eyes looked toward his abdominal region on just the thought of his organs. The thought of him suddenly dying young due to liver poisoning sounded strangely troubling to her. Her eyes then returned to his as he motioned toward her dress.

Her hands felt down her legs in thought of it. The upper part was almost a form fitting Chinese style dress but the similarities ended there thanks to this long azure blue fabric on the side. Her hands parted some of the icy mesh where her legs could be seen folded under her for a moment as she estimated her movement limitations. "Not really. A kimono is more restrictive than this but this isn't the best for running either. Enough to move a bit more than required, if this answers it." She answered and smoothed out her dress again to give a different question on his drinking habits. "How is that?" Her hand pointed to the cocktail. Her drinking was limited to ceremony sake and meetings than other bar concoctions. The sheer number and styles was like fabled alchemy crafting in Mika's mind.

Eiji donned a stupid grin as he pressed play.
"Not so much memorable but they are all fantastic movies. He said as he took a sip of his rusty nail. He held up the drink as mika questioned it. He had never really put into thought if he had to drink while watching movies. "I always drink a rusty nail when i watch this flick, in fact i got a different drink to pair each movie. Had you chose the corpse courier i would had made a Vesper, and for The world is yours i would have made an americano cocktail." He said as the opening scene played. "As you can see im more of a fan of wearing whats comertable." He said as he motioned towards his extremely low effort jeans and white tee combo. "Sour, but doesnt go overboard." He said as she asked about his drink. He sat there for a moment in his own little world. "Well it never occurred to me to offer to make you a drink. You dont seem to be the drinking type, but if you get tired of tea i could make you somthing." He offered as he flipped his sunglasses up to get a better view of the tv.

A sense of pride appeared to be stroked as Eiji held an oddly silly grin that looked stapled to his face as he went on to explain the drinks. His confidence and knowledge came with the names one after another yet Mika did her best poker face to accept this knowledge behind glass doors. "You went and crafted this. Did the bar Master teacher you or were you self taught?" She asked and settled back as the movie's previews and advertisements passed for the opening scene. A base in the arctic to soon be met with a monster. Mika folded her hands in her lap to try taking it in. Usually movies are so dead silent here in Edo. People barely made a sound and their snacks were eaten just as quietly as possible to not disturb others.

Here, on the other hand, was less so on those social rules and norms. The only people here were just the two of them and the movie's actors on screen. In between all this was their conversation about the drinks that Eiji gladly discussed in his far more comfortable attire. He looked right at home or someone that finished his afternoon nap. "Sour but not over powering. I see," she mused while keeping note of who the main character was on screen. "The beginning has a slow start to establish all things but if this were to be missed, the character themselves would be lost." Mika explained her reason of delay to give proper attention to his film. "If I were to request one, what would you craft?"

What sort would he make indeed. In a way, Mika wanted to test his skills but it wouldn't be much of a real test without a person of knowledge as the proper judge.
