[OOC: This is going to be semi-interactive, based upon a little improv game. I've got permission to do this, so we're all cool here. There's going to be a call for the audience - that's 'Everybody at the dance' - to suggest things to help decide how this dance-off is going to go. Please send all ideas to this thread.
It's a good place to organize them and keep track. We do have a contengency plan if people don't want to participate, but this will be a HELLUVA lot more fun if you do! So, let's begin!]
The band had been briefed long before this, and by that we mean that they were asked very kindly if they would do this for them, and they seemed alright with doing this. It was all for fun, basically. Roshi just wanted to put Nobu to the test, that's all. As the center of the dance floor was opened to the two young men - Roshi Bento and Nobuyori Azai - a young man with a hat and a trenchcoat, wearing a tuxedo underneath all og that, appeared on the stage with the band - mic in hand - as the music started up.
[dohtml]"Greetings, Bugei! My name is Hakuro Kuroda, otherwise known as the traveling Hatto-san! For this dance-off challenge, I will be referee and coordinator, however YOU will determine the outcome. These two will be dancing according to your taste in music, the style you want them to do it in, and the special moves you want them to use. This is both for your entertainment and for them to challenge each other, so let loose with the ideas! And of course, at the end of it all, you decide who the king of dance moves truly is!"

With Nobu and Roshi facing each other, the Hatto-san was recording all the ideas, which he would then unleash on the two. The music was the music, of course. The style was how they would be dancing, like as in breakdancing or ballet or rave. And the moves? If anybody had some specific motions they wanted the two to do as epically as possible, they would have to do it. They could suggest anything they wanted, or something known like The Robot. It didn't matter.
Roshi was ready, though. How about Nobu?

Because the dance is school-wide, everyone can be in attendance, and so potentially everyone is watching the Roshi-Nobu dance-off taking place. Since everyone is encouraged to shout out ideas for music, styles, and dance-moves for them to use, this topic is made to hear and keep track of all your ideas.
Please post your ideas below. They will be recorded here.MUSIC: STYLES: MOVES:Remember, you can make things up too.

The room is largely quiet, for the most part. Here, at the location of the Art Club, one corner was taken up by several papers, pencils, and measuring tools. At first glance, it all appeared to be a bunch of to-scale diagrams of a room and human characteristics. What room and what person? It was unlabeled, a careful eye would be able to tell that it was the auditorium for the school. Sitting among these materials with a post-it note on his shoulder was Roshi Bento.
As far as most people who knew Roshi could tell, the young artist was a right and proper goofball, but the truth of it was...even though that was true
, that isn't ALL there was to him. He had gone through alot of changes. Since the beginning, he'd lost friends and regained one of them when it turned out she wasn't dead, he'd been to dangerous missions and war, he'd loved and he was currently not sure what the status of that was. But does the possibility of a turn-down bring down
this guy? Hell no! He didn't sit there in some kind of personal stew. He was planning a grand act for all to see.
It's what he did. It's what it's like to be Roshi
. Much of what he planned was completed now. He'd gotten the help he needed AND the materials, but there was one thing missing. This was going to be the best thing ever, but even if he did that, he needed one more thing. No, check that. It wasn't a thing at all. It was a person
... Roshi pulled the post-it note off of his shoulder, looking it over.

That last one... Nobu was already asking Suishoku to the dance. He didn't know who else to ask. He didn't feel comfortable asking Makoto or Mirai. He wasn't going to ask Kurome - provided he could find
the ninja-girl - even if Kai wasn't
in town. Too much respect for those two. He wasn't sure that this was Tagami's scene either. He could be wrong, but it didn't seem likely to him. Roshi had to think about this. He knew a number of girls, but the ones he knew on the personal level weren't going to work out.
He pulled out his phone and logged into the Bugei's site. Generally, when he wanted to find something out about someone at the school, there was easy-to-find information publically available, or at least to other students. He wasn't sure how it worked, except that it did. There had to be someone who would fit the bill. To match Nobu at his game, he needed someone at the Noble level, but who? Roshi ran a check according to some of his own interests and...hmmm. 'Sanada, Hana'...a member of the Cultural Club. Wait. That was like...next door.SHOOM!
Roshi was fast, as is, but after the Edo War with the Ikko Ikki, he put himself through some personal training to focus his improvisational performance into real skill. The papers scattered as he leapt to his feet and thrust the door open, literally dashing to the Cultural Club room... He almost literally screeched to a halt and slid open the door with a sudden whirl, a spin in place. Roshi looked inside, giving any viewer a look at this casually-dressed Roshi getting a look in this room, perhaps for the first time.
"Hiyo! Is Hana in today?"

So, it went like this: Sometimes, you wonder where it is your cat goes when it leaves for the day, especially when it thinks you're not looking. Cats are independent creatures, like humans, only with far less shame. When you think about it, it has to be like that. They walk around naked, wash themselves in public, and don't really care whose
property they wander into. It's how they roll and they just don't give a damn.
Today's little venture features two figures heading down the street. The first is kind of a grey tabby with a compact body, legs and tail that seem short for the body-size involved. He's moving along quite a number of feet ahead of one Makoto Shiyo, owner
of said cat. She is a physically-fit short-haired brunette with glasses who - sadly - feels compelled to cover the scars she obtained in an earthquake with long sleeves and socks with her hiking boots. Those boots were getting their use today, though.
You see, this all started with her little brother, Kenji, having a look at their departing cat and wondering where he goes...which he couldn't follow because the cat, Shorty, kept going into other people's properties. You see? No shame or regard for other people's boundaries. Kenji couldn't follow. He was just a kid, AND he was polite. Makoto was generally polite too, but she was also a Scion with decent physical training. She
And that's what she was doing now, just following her cat and seeing where he goes.
